Sake Rice Wine & Snakes — a poem

and a whimsical cautionary tale

Selena Swift sighed.

Sweet serendipity, sake shortages show sobriety.

Shaun Stone silently sat, surrendering.

Secretly, Shaun surmised “sake soothes spirits satisfyingly.”

Selena soothingly said “sour snake sweets satiate somewhat”, smoothing sensibilities.

Surprising Selena, Shaun, sipping smuggled sake shots, says:

“Sugar sucks, so sod off.”

.

This poem with a “volta” (turn of thought) was inspired by the awesome anonymous poem “Susan Simpson”.

Put on your creative hat for alliteration and try your hand at an alliterative poem, with or without a volta!
