POETRY TRINITY–A fusion of 3 interrelated poems.
Sad Songs
A true story of a friend’s life in the doldrums, and as I heard it, this trinity poem came to life.

The day started with me and my friend sitting out in the garden and talking away to glory. Soon her light chatter got converted into serious talk that moistened her eyes with every word she spoke. Little did I know, that there was a lot of upheaval in her life… and just like that, in listening the day went by. She left for her home in the evening to go back to her grim life, but what she left behind for me was a deep thought. I sat introspecting all she had said and eventually felt the need to vent it out. What it seemed and felt like was a solid burden- with a deep penetrating pain that ran through my mind into the heart and there was nothing I could do. Since a friend’s secret is for keeps, I saw nothing to help ease her pain or get it out from me until the moment I remembered that “Words are Weapons”. So without further disclosure, I penned down these three interlinked poems and titled them “Sad Songs” taking inspiration from the old movie — “Sad Movies” and the famous song “Sad Movies -Always Make Me Cry”.
When communication lessens, one often wonders…
To Believe Or Not To Believe?
“He said he loved her, but never in her ear; so how does she know the truth about something, she can’t hear?
At times he made her feel good, so very special and rare; bad times by her side he stood, undoubtedly he used to care!
He says he still loves her, she doesn’t know whether to believe; it’s just so hard for her; to be her, or to step away from him and leave?”
And then she kept on reminiscing over all that he had said to her in…
What He Said…
“He said he loved her, he said it was true; he said he cared, “sweety, it’s only for you.”
Dear, but when she gave you her heart, her love, her soul, herself completely; she felt with it; you flew away, tore her apart, making her feel, you loved anyone but her.
She sat whole night, tears rolling down her eyes, thinking about all you had said, all your lies; wishing she’d known that with her feelings you’ll play, the day you came dear and swept her heart away!
She said she cried herself to sleep each night and thinking about how hurt she must be, caused me disturbed sleep too. So in the wee hours of the morning, I woke up with a jolt and with a list of questions playing in mind, making me wonder…
Why???
Why can’t she get over you? Why does she have to feel so blue? Why did she have to love you so much? Why does she long for your heavenly touch? Why can’t she get you out of her mind? Why is her love for you so blind? Why does it grow with passing time? Why is her love for you so prime? Why don’t your love for her you show? Why don’t you want the world to know? Why? Why? Why…she wonders why? Why can’t your love perfume her sky?
As I ended penning these down I thought at first, should I share with her or not? But then, as she was the inspiration, I did, and it made her happy that I could give her feelings a Voice. So as I publish it here with her approval, she too is taking a brave step- she is printing and giving them to her husband, hoping for a miracle to happen. And I would like to end these “Sad Songs” by wishing her all the best, not just for now but for each day in life. May only love and happiness knock on your door my dear friend and I soon get to write “Happy Songs” for you.
