S.N.A.F.U.
Politics as usual or Time for a change

I held the remote in my right hand With my feet up on the table I was thinking, damn I should be doing something else But my body was shouting — I’m just not able
I’ve been in lockdown for 45 straight days! And have binged on every fucking show, So, my mind was not working as it should be Or maybe it was, I just don’t know
All I could see were streaming politicians with their heads spinning round and round I could swear that they were talking But everything appeared upside down
They said that all was going great — really That Covid-19 was on the run But with all those numbers going up I thought damn — some shit just ain’t being done

Their hands were pointing this way and that Like some awesome ancient God And as I sat there bleary eyed And my head began to nod
I felt that time was running out For doing something against this Flu But with the President and his minions just standing there All I thought was, God — S.N.A.F.U
But I’m not taking this no more Netflix and Hulu be damned I have to get up and write something Cause everything has gotten out of hand
So, while mustering all my energy I eased up off the couch I pulled on my bunny slippers And took my glasses from their pouch
And with a self-determined relish I stumbled down those stairs Sat down in front of my 42” monitor And with a solemn nod began
I gathered all my thoughts precisely And wrote my best — it’s true Tis the beginning of the end to this bullshit And the end to this — S.N.A.F.U.
