Russia Bombed the Military Makeshift Hospital at the Azovstal Plant
The Russians air-dropped bombs and then attacked the improvised hospital with artillery fire

According to a source from the Azov Regiment on Twitter, Russian troops dropped massive multi-ton air bombs last night. They fired with artillery at a military Makeshift Hospital at the Azovstal Plant hospital located at the Metallurgical Combine Azovstal, situated in Mariupol, where the wounded were treated.
Then, after the shelling was over, they continued to mercilessly bombard the plant — one of the largest steel rolling companies in Ukraine.
Among the already hospitalized, there have been deaths, patients who have been re-injured, and those left with concussions.
Part of the building collapsed due to the enemy attack, namely, the makeshift surgery room.
According to the media outlet, the Regiment has been made unable to offer medical care to the injured and ill, as it had been doing under fire and in the most desperate of circumstances due to the awful attack.
The Ukrainian Regiment once again stressed how the Geneva Convention guarantees the protection of hospitals and emergency medical facilities as those injured during an ongoing conflict should not come under attack of any sort: “Injured and sick people need to be protected! “— they emphasize.
“ Regardless of whether they are civilians or military personnel (combatants). Injured people should be provided with necessary assistance without any discrimination. We call on international human rights groups to take action in response to Russia’s continue to lay waste to Mariupol!”
The First and Fourth Geneva Conventions guarantee the safety of medical staff and institutions, allowing them to function without military involvement and treat patients only on the basis of need.
The United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 2675 in 1970, which stipulates that military activities shall not be conducted in a medical zone or comparable shelter.
Operations may be directed only against military objectives and combatants; it is prohibited to target civilian objects or civilians.
Only military targets and fighters are allowed to be targeted; civilian structures or people are not allowed to come under fire.
The fourth Geneva Convention is stringent regarding this matter and specifies that hospitals and medical staff are protected while performing their duties.
Therefore, indiscriminate attacks on hospitals, medical units, and medical personnel functioning in a humanitarian capacity are never admissible.
Concluding Remarks
The footage below was taken just after the bombardment began. The video depicts the rescue of military personnel sent to the hospital with critical injuries as they again receive first-aid assistance.
