Ruby’s Prompt Purge Party For November
It’s my birthday month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean… who doesn’t cut a birthday cake with a giant stabby-looking knife?
I do.
Obviously, I do…
Hello, my gorgeous Deep Thought Prompt Warriors!
Are you recovering from my political shenanigans of October? Do you think my birthday month means I’m going to go easy on you?
That doesn’t sound like me… making every single prompt all about ME sounds a lot more like me but making philosophical, psychological, criminological, and random animal prompts all about me seems… actually, I probably could do that.
But I won’t.
Probably.
Though I might.
I guess we’ll find out…
So, as you may or may not already know, these prompts are meant to smash your gray matter into fractured little bits all over your keyboard as you analyze and overthink and wonder what the hell kind of monster created such writing exercises…
I don’t have a complaint department though so if you dislike one of my prompts because it bothers your fragile sensibilities, I suggest you come up with a decent argument as to WHY it bothers you rather than whining about it or just skip it… because I genuinely will not even slightly care a teeny tiny bit. I’m not here to amuse you, I’m here to make you THINK.
Some people find that amusing.
Me. I’m some people. I find that amusing.
And playtime in my sandbox will leave you feeling dirty. 😉
I should have that printed on a shirt or something. I write it every single month. Who wants to send me a birthday gift?? I would like a giant oversized hoodie that says “Playtime in my sandbox may leave you feeling dirty”. Preferably in red. It’s my signature color.
Shall we go onto my usual utter lack of rules and regulations and my disclaimers for anyone new to the Ruby Prompt Purge?
My prompts do not have right answers. They don’t have wrong answers. Some of them do not have answers at all. It’s madness. Sheer fucking madness. The only requirement is that you think. Think hard. Think deep. Think twice. Maybe think about it one more time. And then PUBLISH YOUR THOUGHTS.
What you think is never as important as why you think it so each prompt comes with multiple questions. Some of them will give you examples, links for research, or challenge you to go in search of some deeper understanding. Do not skip follow up questions. Do not avoid things that make you uncomfortable. Do not mess with the birthday girl. 🎁😈🎂
Coffee is suggested though not required.
I do not analyze or judge your responses. I demand that you tag me in them so I can read them and see what you made of them but I don’t judge or critique unless I’m asked to.
Don’t ask me to. That’s a playground you do not want to get into. There are rusty nails and shards of broken glass everywhere! Proceed with caution!
You can technically publish them anywhere that will accept them, or you can self-publish them while you’re planning my massive Medium birthday party.
Which, obviously, all of you are.
But the smartest option would be to publish them in Read or Die! where they live. It just makes sense. Unless you want to be separate and weird.
Some people want to be separate and weird.
While reading over these prompts please be aware that anything that seems easy… likely isn’t. I do give your brains a break here and there but there’s always more to it than meets the eye. Nothing I do is accidental nor is it ever quite as it seems.
Another potential hoodie opportunity. I say that every month also. Yet, some of you still don’t believe me…
Going back to where it started… I did actually make this month — All. About. Me!!! All of these prompts are based on something from my life. It may be something I like or love. It may be something I dislike or hate. It may be something I spend a weird amount of time thinking about. But in some way… it’s all about me! It’s my birthday month, did you really think I wouldn’t?!
I also encourage you to go outside of the prompts and write odes and essays and long meandering poetry about the glory that is me… and also a tribute to my pets.
You decide whether or not I’m kidding. 😉
While I have provided you with enough prompts to do one every single day in the month of Rubyvember, you are not required to do them in the order they are written. Jump around, and do them in any order that you’d like. They are also specifically designed so that you can combine them if you find the connections and want to do more than one at a time. But for many of them — that would make for quite a long piece.
These prompts are not meant to be easily and quickly wrapped up. I do that on purpose. Doing them should have you using whole new tags that you probably haven’t used before (I don’t know your life, maybe you have) and writing things that may be a bit longer than usual — I do that on purpose. It benefits you. It gives you new followers, new readers, and longer read times.
Don’t say I never did anything for you. Read time doesn’t matter as much now but it DID when I originally wrote this. So just say thank you and move on and do the prompts. It’s my birthday. All month. The whole month belongs to me.
Look beyond the prompt itself. A lot of them this month may seem super easy. But remember who you’re dealing with. And there are always prompts that are specifically intended to press buttons — and those buttons may not be yours. They may belong to the people reading your responses. Have the courage and conviction to publish anyway. You have thoughts. Politically correct people are BORING.
I dare you not to be.
Happy writing!
November Prompts.
- Reality television. Do you watch it? If so — what do you watch? Competitions count. Do you think it’s all real or is it scripted? What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever watched? What have refused to watch because it was so crazy and why do you see it that way? Would you ever go on one of these shows? If so which one? If not why not? How far would you be willing to go for 15 minutes of fame or a cash prize? And I do mean — what’s your limit? Where do you draw a line and say, “I’d never do that no matter what”? How and why did this become a thing? Would any part of your life make for good reality TV? Explain.
- What are your thoughts on trigger warnings? Do you feel they are necessary or that we live in an overly sensitive and overly protected society where people may not be censored but have to warn others that what they’re about to say might upset them? How about in schools? Learning about certain things in history SHOULD trigger emotions — but should it not still be learned? Are we setting a dangerous precedent by worrying about tripping over people’s feelings constantly? Explain.
- Which one of my pets is your favorite and why? Kidding — though if you want to write about that you totally can 😂😂 What is your favorite pet you’ve ever had? If you’ve never had a pet — what is your favorite animal in the entire world? If you have a pet you can answer both if you’d like. Please outline what makes them (the specific pet or the animal you choose… or both) special.
- List five things your significant other does that make your life better. Then list five things your significant other does that annoy you but you overlook them. Then let them make the same lists about you and include both. And then write about the conversation this created. Was it hard to hear or say the annoying things? Did I cause a fight? (My bad..) Did anything surprise you or them? If you do not have a significant other — make the same exact lists with your best friend or the person you are closest to in your life. Don’t forget to have them make the same lists about you! Then write about whether or not these things were born of past relationship experiences and how that has impacted your views of future relationships. Do not leave this out — it might be the entire point of this prompt.
- What are your views on SeaWorld? Have you seen Blackfish? If not — go watch it and then reanswer the first question. NOW. Do you believe it or do you think it’s skewed? SeaWorld is one of the things I hate most on this planet. As you all know, I’m an avid animal advocate — do some digging on them and see if you can figure out why I hate them so much. I’m challenging you to think like me. Examine every aspect of it through the lens of someone who speaks for animals and fights for animals (despite being terrified of sea creatures) and see if you can see what I see… then determine if you agree and make an argument for or against continuing to go there. But the argument must be valid. If you like them, can you make me see them differently? If you hate them — is it based solely on Blackfish or do you know more about them? Explain.
- I have been told that I should come with warning labels. That is probably true. If humans actually did come with warning labels — what would yours be? They don’t have to be warning labels that currently exist in the world, you can make up your own. What should people be warned about before they even start speaking to you and why? Think hard — this isn’t as simple as you might think it is. And make me laugh. 😂 It’s not simple, but it should still be fun.
- If you read me (and if you do my prompts, you probably do), you know who Blue Eyes is. Well… you know who he is in reference to me, not in real life. Do you have any exes that really altered your life so you still talk about (or write about) them? Are you still in touch with any of them? Are you still friends with your exes (or some of them) or do you think that’s disrespectful to any current or future relationships? Do you get jealous or feel some type of way when someone you’re seeing is friends with an ex or talks about an ex (or writes about an ex)? Don’t worry about insulting me because I obviously write about my ex — my husband knows about it and knows why and I will answer this prompt as well. But state what you think for your life, your exes, your relationships, and yourself. The prompts this month are based on my life but you’re not going to upset me if you’re not like me. There can only be one me… the world would be absolutely terrifying if there were more!! Well… there’s Misty Rae… but she’s in Canada. Holy hell… what if there’s a version of me in every country…. I’ve gone off track now. Do the prompt!
- The people in my life are very important sounding boards for me. Tell me the best AND worst advice you’ve been given from each of the following people: One (or both) of your parents. A sibling (if you don’t have siblings — skip this obviously). Significant other (current if you have one, former if you’re single). Your best friend (if you have more than one best friend, do it for each person you use this term about). Your grandparents (even if they’ve passed on. As long as you knew them during your life — do this. If they never gave you advice, maybe list advice they gave your parents). List things you feel you’ve learned from your pets (current or former or skip if you've NEVER had pets but that’s just sad… go get one. Seriously. Right now!!!). Who in your life have you learned the most from? Who in your life is your first call when something is wrong? Who is your favorite person? What makes them your favorite? Do you tend to be friends with people who are more like you… or more opposite of you (birds of a feather vs opposites attract)? Does the same hold true in terms of your romantic history? Why do you think that is? Answer all of the things in this prompt!
- What do you currently do to reduce your carbon footprint? Do you think it’s enough? What else could you potentially be doing and what’s stopping you from doing it? Have you ever taken part in a cleanup of pollution or plastic from the beaches/oceans? Have you ever gone out of your way to help an animal in crisis? Would you go out of your way to help an animal in crisis? What factors would you consider first — if any? How do you think you impact the planet? Or do you think one person doesn’t make that much of an impact? Explain.
- I’m going to assign you FBI homework. Do some research on a serial killer that you find interesting in some way. It may be interesting in a terrifying way (like maybe they were never caught or their killings were particularly gruesome or they amassed a huge body count) but don’t try to deny that serial killers are interesting to the public. They are. Tell the class about them. Try to find things that aren’t widely known. Do some research. Summing up true crime stories is tricky — the story is the story so be very careful to write it in your own way and not get zapped for plagiarism. Also be careful about copyrights on photos. Use stock photos if you can’t find one that is legally allowed to be used. People can look them up to see their actual faces. But I want to see what you can uncover that YOU didn’t already know. Going with someone you already know tons about is a cop-out unless you go on a deep dive for more information. May the odds be ever in your favor because if you get something wrong off the Google — I will know 😎 cross reference your findings!!!
- Name something that changed the trajectory of your entire life. How did it change everything? What path were you on previously and what path did you take instead because of ONE THING? (Can also be a person). At several points in every life, something or someone comes along that changes everything. Maybe it was a change in your education major. Maybe it was a change in love partner. Maybe it was moving somewhere. Maybe it was a career change. Maybe it was an injury. Maybe it was a death. Maybe it was a birth. Maybe it was a major world event. Maybe it was meeting someone who influenced you in a huge way and made your thinking change. Maybe it was ME. It probably was… but you don’t have to use me. 😂 I’m really being an asshole this month — but it’s MY month, I own it and I do what I want. Describe how your life was before, what/who happened and what your life has been since. Show the whole story.
- Now you all know I am a crime junkie. I have a Master’s in Criminal Psychology so it’s cool — I’m not a secret serial killer (that I’d admit to — that would be incredibly stupid… but, seriously I’m not). Um… anyway. Crime of the Century. You’ve all heard that term. Many times. In the same century. Several crimes are termed this. Google the term and then pick the one that calls to you the most and explain why it is the TRUE Crime of the Century in the century in which it occurred. What makes it beat all other crimes in 100 years? Was it shocking? Unsolved? Did a killer get away with murder based on a rhyme about ill-fitting handwear and then write a book about IF I DID IT…? Pick a crime, any crime, and title it the Crime of the Century. But you must give detailed reasons as to why it has earned that title. Also — when referencing things that really happened, the facts are the facts but don’t get hung up by the plagiarism police! Cite your sources, use your own words, and give links to actual photos but use stock photos as your main photos as per copyright law! I got zapped for this before — be careful!
- I have never truly understood art. I can not draw to save my life but a lot of things that people call art — I stare at and wonder why. I mean, Jackson Pollock for example. Paint splatters. Even I could do that. What the hell is so special about paint splatters? Or sometimes an entire canvas will be painted one color and rich people stand there staring at it trying to decipher its meaning. Um… What am I missing? Explain art to me. Whatever kind of art you happen to like — explain it. Explain its value. Does it have value? Or am I right and rich people are just completely crazy and will buy anything that someone else says is expensive? Whether you’re on the side of art and explaining it or you’re a fellow art critic — make your case through thought, examples, and research. Just because it’s something I don’t understand doesn’t make it bad — but show me what makes it SPECIAL. Or what doesn’t. As long as you put some thought into it.
- Let’s talk about your obsessions. We all have things we dwell on. Sometimes these things are things we want but can not have. Sometimes they’re things that annoy us but we can’t kill them because that’s murder. Sometimes they’re things we find unbelievably stupid but can’t do anything about because too many people believe it. Sometimes they’re parts of our past that we can’t get beyond or change. Sometimes it’s loss that we can not get over. Sometimes it’s otters. What do you get stuck on? Why? List as many as you like but explain them — is it a good obsession or a bad obsession, and do you think you will ever not have the obsession anymore? How often do you think about it? What do you feel when you think about it? Go deep for each thing you list. Try to give at least one good thing and one not so good thing. But like I said — how many you decide to list is up to you and your own obsessive nature.
- Have you ever taken part in a writing contest (not attempt at publication, a contest)? Whether you have or you haven’t — do you believe there is any such thing as a writing contest that can be judged fairly? Examine that thought through personal experience in taking part in a writing contest or through just your own opinion. Then imagine you’re a judge for a writing contest. What are you looking for? Assuming when (if) multiple people answer this prompt, every single person’s judging criteria is different — is the contest still fair? When judging a specified talent such as writing where styles are so vastly different and tastes are so vastly different in reading can anything actually be considered a fair contest? Explain.
- Two Truths and a Lie is a well-known icebreaker game where you tell two true facts about yourself and one blatant lie and people have to guess which is the lie. Because I’m me — I’m taking this to a new level. I want you to write five detailed and convincing stories from your life. You choose how many are true and how many aren’t. Then encourage your readers to figure it out. What’s true? What isn’t? This will be inevitably harder for narrative writers (like me) but I’m also a fiction writer — do you know all of my stories or can I trick you with five works of utter fiction? Can I combine things you don’t know with things that simply aren’t true? Will you be able to tell the difference? I guess we’ll see — but you’ll be doing the same thing. Remember — you decide if all five are true or if all five are fiction or any combination of each. How deceitful are you really? Can you make people believe utter lies about yourself? Or are you… just… too… honest? This may or may not be a test. You decide. And then get creative and be VERY detailed. Make. It. Hard. Brandon Ellrich should have a field day with this because of that ending alone.
- I lived in Florida for a while and absolutely freaking hated it. But Florida is more than just a hellscape that should break off of America and float away and it’s definitely more than just the land of the theme park. It’s also the invasive species capital of the world! Look up “invasive species in Florida” and pick one. Any animal that now lives in Florida and shouldn’t because it’s not naturally found there is up for grabs. Tell us about it. Give a detailed outline of the animal itself, tell us where it’s NATURALLY from, how it ended up in Florida, and what problems it’s creating. How do we stop invasive species? And other than humans… what other things cause invasive species to pop up (not just in Florida)? Then… just for funsies and because I’m such an animal person — do it all over again for an invasive species literally anywhere in the entire world that isn’t Florida.
- There are things that are very prevalent in the world today that weren’t previously. Part of that is likely because they were always around and called something else. But some of it could have other explanations. Find me some. For example, I don’t remember ever knowing anyone with a nut allergy when I was a kid. I was wrapped in my ballet bubble world but still, I don’t remember ever hearing about it. Now, it feels like it’s everywhere. Now, I’m not sure I know anyone who doesn’t have a nut allergy as part of their life (either through their children or their sibling’s children, or someone else they are close to). Where is this coming from? Some things being discovered are good and helping people. Others are not great and people are overmedicated — sometimes for things they should NOT be medicated for. Think this over. I’m giving you very little to go on for a reason. Compare your own childhood to the world today and tell me what is NEW and why you think it’s happening. Is it good or bad? Explain.
- Women tend to be far more interested in true crime documentaries, podcasts, research, books, etc. than men. Not always — but as a general rule, I think you’ll find this accurate. Why? What is the gender difference in all things murdery? Do you think a fascination with true crime is healthy? Is it twisted? Is it weird? Is it frightening to people the fascinated person is romantically linked to? I have a floor-to-ceiling bookcase filled with books about murder — do you think my husband lives in fear?? Are you comfortable answering that question? Why are people in general fascinated by things that are atrocious? We use a trainwreck to describe things we can not turn away from. Why do we feel a need to look at trainwrecks? At really bad car accidents? At crime scenes? There is a reason why “if it bleeds it leads” is the mantra of newsrooms — that is what draws attention and holds it. What is with the fascination people have with death, destruction, and utter disaster? Be very detailed and yes, I expect you to answer the question about my husband 😎
- I used to really like the show American Horror Story. The last few seasons have been utter shit — but one of them — the first half of Double Feature (also called Red Tide) inspired this prompt: There is a pill placed in front of you. If you have REAL talent, taking the pill will maximize that talent. You will become wealthy and internationally renowned and famous and you will be a household name. The price of this fame is that you have to kill people to live off of their blood. You wouldn’t be a vampire, you’d be safe in the daylight and you’re still mortal — but in order to keep living, you need to kill for blood. And it has to be human blood. If you do NOT have real talent — taking the pill will curse you into a twisted, horrifying, monster, zombie creature that is basically without any form of intellect — your only mindset is to kill. You are the damned and doomed to the shadows. Now… There are two parts to this question: Do you believe in your talent enough to believe it would work AND is the price something you’re willing to pay? Oh and… this is me so you can’t get away so simply as saying you believe in yourself but if you never get famous you’re okay with that and wouldn’t take the pill. You actually have no choice. However, if you do not like the show’s terms for the price of pill— you need to redesign the terms. If you have real talent — there IS a price that must be paid and it is NOT a simple price. There is always darkness at stake for things like this. Name your price. You must also list what you’d be willing to RISK if your talent was not real. And it must be bad. The choice is totally up to you — but you must include a nasty price for fame and a nasty cost of being wrong about your talent. But you’re taking the pill. 😎 Name your terms. 😈
- I heard this on a TV show but could not find a source to say it’s a real quote. It might be. But consider this quote… “Reality is the only word in the English language that should always be in quotations”. Think about that. What IS reality? Should it always be in quotations, as in, it’s not certain? Is it simply what we perceive? Can we perceive alternate realities and create them? Can you actually manifest your own destiny? Not through hard work and dedication and study — but simply through thinking something into being? Why or why not? Take time to truly think this through and show your thoughts as your response. I basically want this prompt to be answered as a stream of consciousness as you work through what you think about reality. What. Is. Reality? And go!
- You all know I’m not super into technology but let’s do a deep dive on the children growing up with it. Do you think it’s making them smarter? Less intelligent? Is it a detriment to them or a benefit? They have access to all this information but how do they know if it’s real or misinformation? What about the things that they’re NOT learning because they can rely on technology? Are those things important or will the tech always be there for them now? Are kids being raised to be too dependent on technology or do you wish you had it when you were growing up? Explain.
- Happy Thanksgiving! Think I’m giving you a nice holiday break? Well… I’m not. I hate Thanksgiving because it was the holiday that my parents shared despite being two different religions so they fought over where my brother and I would spend it and I was a ballerina so I wasn’t even allowed to eat. It was bad. So in the spirit of Thanksgiving hatred… is this a holiday we should truly be celebrating? Do you know the REAL story behind it and think it’s a day to be GRATEFUL or a day to be SORRY? So… make a list of ten things you’re grateful for followed by a list of ten things you’re sorry for. They may have happened a long time ago or recently, you may have apologized or you may not have but we’ve all done things we shouldn’t. That’s America for ya! And because Thanksgiving is immediately followed by Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Some kind of Shopping thing Sunday, and Cyber Monday — give me a list of ten things you WISH you had. They don’t have to be things you can buy. Anything you wish you had can go on this list. Because it’s nothing if not contradictory to sit down and celebrate a massacre by being grateful for what you have only to spend the next day trying to mow people down to get a good sale price on a new television. Three lists. Explain them. It’s not too too much because it is a holiday so I won’t burden you but you had to know I wasn’t going to make this all happiness and sunshine. Enjoy your turkey!
- This one was inspired by Coralie Brébec. You all know by know that I’m an atheist and I’m very anti-religion. That said… I think it would be interesting (and fun) to design your own cult. I would like you to be detailed. What does you cult worship — what is it centered around — what is the end goal? It doesn’t have to be religious (it can be but we’re very close to my birthday so tread lightly) and it definitely doesn’t have to be deadly (it can be but warn the Medium police of your fictitious intentions), it can be anything you want. Who would NOT allow to join? How would you choose your followers? How would you lure them? What would not be tolerated and get someone thrown out? Go nuts. Cults are fascinating and I’m letting you design and lead one. Just try to not actually make one because people are highly susceptible to that sort of thing. Mind the sheep!
- We do not know the full extent of what our brains are capable of. Don’t worry about what percentage of your brain you actually use — that doesn’t matter. What we do know for sure is that we don’t fully understand the human brain. If you look at the brain of a dolphin compared to the brain of a human — they can do things we can not… like use sonar. But people who are blind CAN use echolocation. Actually, Kudu (my blind cat) does that as well. When one sense is taken, others tend to heighten. Why do you think that happens? (I fully encourage you to play around with that and write about the experience but I won’t force you to. But at some point in your life, you should. Blindfold yourself and see what you notice when your sight is taken. Put on noise-canceling headphones and see what happens when you can’t hear. I’m not going to tell you to try to eliminate your sense of smell or taste because doing that could not happen humanely and loss of touch would be pretty hard to create. But you can eliminate sight and hearing. If you’re really brave — do both at once. And write about it. But you do not have to). What I DO want you to do for this prompt is to write about what you think our brains might be capable of but we just haven’t tapped into it yet. I asked you at some point some number of months ago how you feel about psychics — could it be possible to foresee the future? How about telekinesis? Can we move things with our minds if we try hard enough? Can we read each other’s minds if we try hard enough? We do not fully understand what our brains are capable of — that is a fact. Everything else — it’s potential, that I’m putting on you. What do you think? You need to provide an explanation for as to why you believe each thing you list could be possible, but what those things are… that’s entirely yours to choose.
- No one is ever the villain in their own story. Humans are really good at justifying their actions. Those justifications may not make sense to anyone but them — but they can justify it. Even murderers (except serial killers who generally kill because they enjoy it) can justify the act of killing someone. Write a story for me in which YOU are the villain. Not a fictional version of you — but you, yourself. Use all the facets of your real life and real people in it. But in this story… you’re going to commit a crime. That’s the part that’s fictional, I am not telling you to actually commit a crime. You can choose the crime but it has to be a felony. Don’t write me a story about a justifiable act of speeding, I will be bored out of my mind. Felonies only. Commit a crime — and make it completely justified. At least to you. But if you do this well… you’ll get other people to think it was right as well 😉
- IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As your gift to me (thank you!) you are going to do an animal kindness prompt (what the hell else would I have you do on my birthday?). There are two parts to this. We’re going to do another animal lesson. Teach the Mediumverse about the animal of your choice — tell us all about what makes them special, why they’re important to the planet, all the usual Ruby Animal article stuff — BUT because it’s my birthday… it MUST be a furry land mammal (as long as they’re on land at least part of the time they count — so seals, otters, sea lions, etc… they’re furry, they’re mammals, they come on land — they count). Tell us why they matter. Part two: do something kind for animals today. I don’t care what. It could be for your pets. It could be for wildlife. It could be going to a rescue and donating something. But — pics or it didn’t happen. I want to see the kindness to animals spread through the Mediumverse for my birthday. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL RUBY DAY!!!!!
- I’m basically a walking defense mechanism. As people, we use defense mechanisms to protect ourselves from feelings that are simply too strong to handle completely. Freud first identified 7. More modern theories list 20 defense mechanisms employed by people to help them cope. Look over the article I linked for you and see what rings true for you. It is likely that we all use some form of all of them for different things throughout our lifetime. But I want you to list the ones you think that you employ the most. What do you use them for? How do they help you? What could you do instead? You’re now a self-psychoanalyst. Analyze yourself through your defense mechanisms, when you’ve used them, why you’ve used them, and what the results were. Then publish it.
- You all know by now that I am super into philosophical thinking. And if you’ve been doing my prompts since I started them however many months ago… you’re probably getting pretty damn good at thinking that way yourself. There is absolutely nothing more interesting to me than seeing someone struggle with one of my completely twisted prompts and literally have to argue with themselves in order to reach — zero concrete conclusion. This amuses me. What can I say? I don’t usually read your comments, those are messages to you from other people and I see them as none of my business. But I’m curious as to whether reading each other’s responses to these prompts (or maybe one of mine, I respond to them as well) has ever CHANGED your thinking on a particular topic? How have you influenced each other? How has thinking about the topics I give you influenced your own thought process? Do you question things more than you used to? Did you find anything out about yourself along the way (if so — what did you learn?) because you thought about something from a different angle? What was your absolute favorite prompt (yeah, this is pure ego but I don’t care!) that we’ve done and why? What was your LEAST favorite (or made you the most uncomfortable) that we’ve done and why? Have any of them made you wonder if I might actually be a psychopath (I do ask you to imagine killing people a lot — I won’t be offended if it has crossed your mind 😂)? Discuss how this prompt experiment experience has been for you with examples and obvious accolades to me. Or at least… examples.
- How is it the end of my birthday month already? Damn it. You know I like to end each month with something fun. And you also know that I have some pretty interesting dreams — like digging a lazy river into my backyard to house 12 otters that I will name after International cuisines, dress in fancy outfits, and make them passports. I am not normal. And I like me this way. So to end my birthday month — why not write… in vivid detail… your ultimate dream life. Nothing held back. No money worries. Do not be practical. In fact — anything practical is not allowed as it goes against my very nature. Be UNPRACTICAL. Think Willy Wonka goes to Wonderland on acid with Santa kind of lack of practicality. It doesn’t even have to make SENSE. Just make it your own. Make it fun. Make it exciting. Make it totally unreasonable (my otters are completely reasonable no matter what my husband says) and potentially even slightly fictional. It’s literally your world — design it. And HAVE FUN WITH IT!
And with that marvelous mayhem we will call it a wrap on my birthday month! See you tomorrow, when we start on the last month of 2023 (that went by fast, didn’t it?) and I give you 31 new ways of twisting your minds to my will.
Don’t forget to tag me!!!!!!
