Roots from Ruins
Poetry in response to prompt: Black Out Integration
שרשיה its roots מהריסות from ruins
trace them lightly, those fragile things full of masked insecurity potential to be costumed all together broken and glued as some new identity
dig gently, for the land is starved recognizable memory falls off hands, the hairs of history lost name changes and patriarchal tendencies
hold on then, dear child, make more out of your life so that you build on truths
Black out poetry taken from the poem: שפת הוריי or The Language of My Parents by Roy Hasan.
