Roommate/Rent mate/Invisible
So, everything is high all over, everywhere!
You do not need to see a sea of charts, graphs, polls to know this, right!
Most of you are affected too!
Many tenants in this apartment building have not renewed their lease.
Many tenants have skipped out on their lease in the middle of the night or day or “They don’t give a care!”
Many have moved in with brothers, sisters, cousins, mothers, fathers, children. If you do and are WELCOMED, you are BLESSED!
Many do not have brothers, sisters, cousins, mothers, fathers, children to move in with period. I belong to this group.
I thought maybe I could put the rest of my items in my apartment in storage and rent a room. This way, I could pay off my credit debt and loan at a speedier rate. I would be able to save monies while I have time to plot my next course of actions.
“I live in Texas and the elites must think we make the paychecks of the folks in California.” I hear Texans say this since Californians have moved to Texas and bought up land, houses, etc, without a thought because they already had to pay lots to live in California.
So, high cost in California becomes little or nothing for them here in Texas.
And when the media outlets rage with “Austin is the best place to live, or Plano is the best place to live or Blooming Grove or Shrubbush is the best place to live,” what do people do? People believe this crap and move there.
I thought maybe I could split rent payments with someone renting a house to help us both out in these trying times.
No serial squatter need apply…

Netflix Miniseries Worst Roommate Ever gave an eye-opening account (several) of the roommates and rent mates and invisible people horrors.
How can a person/people be so cruel to the helpless, homeless, disabled, sick, nice, decent, kindhearted, trusting, mentally challenged, vulnerable?
Watch Netflix Worst Roommate Ever and you will be sickened to your stomach and scared to fall into the clutches of pure evil devils pretending to be decent, hardworking, upstanding community leaders, angels of mercy.
I was introduced to the Nextdoor App which lets you know about happenings in your neighborhood and nearby. It is interesting to read and see pictures of beautiful flowers, trees, yards. Reports of stolen boxes, lawn furniture, pets, good neighbors all caught on door/house cameras. Things to buy sell, trade, free to pick up now. A couple neighbors reported on rent squatters and the grueling ordeal to get them out of their homes when in “good faith” they tried to make extra money.
Today, I read a post of how a particular intersection had been cleared of the tent city, homeless, carts, clothes, invisible ones of society. Several other posts chime in with “handclaps, hurrah, about time, past time, been waiting on this forever, police finally did their job.”
One empathic person post, “So the poor souls have been tossed away like trash placed in a dumpster, along with their only belongings, pictures and remnants of another life, a memory of a better life.” “Where did they go?”
These neighbors had no sympathy/empathy for the one empathic person’s post.
So sad, the human condition…
Once upon a time, I lived in my dream house in a small 87 home neighborhood. All was right with the world until The WorldCom Scandal (2002) (internationalbanker.com)
“On June 25, 2002, WorldCom disclosed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the public that for 2001 and the first quarter of 2002, it had determined that certain transfers amounting to $3.852 billion from “line cost” expenses to asset accounts were not made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). A few weeks later, the company filed for bankruptcy, shortly before revealing an additional $3.831 billion in improperly reported earnings for 1999, 2000, 2001 and the first quarter of 2002.”
Eight homes went into foreclosure.
The nice couple on my street with the big corner two-story house and two children were not able to sustain expenses on a teacher’s salary. The husband went from Worldcom executive to vacuum cleaner salesman trying to provide for his family.
Just one of the eight stories I remember as a member of the neighborhood HOA (Homeowners Association.)

So, everything is high all over, everywhere!
Not just Texas or California…
We need compassion, empathy, alertness, kindness…
Praying Godspeed for us all and the world we live in, in Jesus' name,
Amen & Amen.
