Embracing Happiness

I find myself on a reflective journey, consciously embracing happiness like an old friend who has weathered the storms of life alongside me.
The wrinkles on my face tell stories of joy, heartache, and resilience, but as I stand at the crossroads of experience, I’ve made a deliberate choice to let happiness be my compass.
Choose to be optimistic, it feels better- Dalai Lama
While doing so, I delightfully aspire to be a quokka. Yes, I do!
Quokkas are indeed captivating creatures, aren’t they? Their enchanting smiles and lively demeanour simply make them irresistible. The world could use a bit more of the infectious happiness, the happiest animal on earth.

Approaching each bend of life’s situations with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation, I’ve learned that embracing happiness is an art, a delicate dance of intention and perspective.
As I inch closer to the half-century mark, I’ve made conscious efforts to weave joy into the intricate fabric of my daily existence.
Mornings have become sacred rituals, not just a rush to start the day, but an opportunity to greet the sunrise with a heart full of gratitude.
The quiet moments spent savouring a cup of coffee, the aroma wafting through the kitchen, have become a sacred act of acknowledging the simple joys that life offers, being grateful to the brim.
Letting go has emerged as a powerful mantra. It’s a continuous effort, a mental decluttering that makes space for the present. In this unburdening, I find a lightness that allows happiness to settle in like a welcomed guest.
Relationships are now nurtured with a deliberate tenderness, with flexibility and calmness. I try to now focus on being less reactive and more responsive, instead! Doing so, I find that I am able to solve situations gracefully and tactfully.
I invest time in the people who matter, savoring shared laughter, weathering storms together, and relishing the beauty of connections that stand the test of time.
Each smile exchanged, each heartfelt conversation, is a brushstroke in the portrait of a happy life.

Self-care is no longer a luxury but a necessity. The realization that nurturing my well-being is not selfish but a prerequisite for radiating positivity has become a guiding principle.
Be it a solitary stroll in the park, losing myself in the pages of a captivating book, or immersing in creative pursuits, these intentional acts of self-love are the building blocks of my happiness.
Approaching the golden years is not about clinging to the past or fearing the future; it’s a celebration of the present.
It’s about sculpting a life where happiness is not merely a fleeting emotion but a conscious, ongoing effort.
Amidst the symphony of joy and the melancholic notes of reflection, I realize that in this ongoing affair, I am both the admirer and the beloved, crafting a timeless love story with life.
Don’t rush into any kind of relationship. Work on yourself. Feel yourself, experience yourself, and love yourself. Do this first, and you will soon attract that special loving other- Russ Von Hoelscher
