Roe v. Wade Spiritual Op-Ed
While we were sleeping, all snug in our beds, we had visions of healthcare rights filling our heads.
After hearing the news about the overturning of Roe v. Wade, grief and outrage poured out of my soul.
While we were sleeping, all snug in our beds, we had visions of healthcare rights filling our heads…
If you looked at the energy, it was unfortunately easy to see this coming. The overturning of the law didn’t happen overnight. It’s been in the works for a long time.
I’ve been telling people for at least a year it would happen. I’m not trying to toot my own horn. I take no pleasure in having seen this coming. Some thought it would never happen. How could it? It’s the law.
Women’s rights are human rights, after all.
And yet, here we are.
For years I’ve seen the undercurrent of male power and control energy flowing and growing. But I also saw something else; fear.
The grip tightens as those who fear losing their power go after anyone and everyone who threatens it. What we see playing out in the overturning of Roe v. Wade is the male bravado flexing its muscle to scare those who threaten their control.
The spiritual side
Each of us has masculine and feminine aspects within each of us. And those energies must be in balance. Unfortunately, we’ve been out of balance for a very long time.
We lost sight of the eternal spiritual parts of ourselves to become more ego-body-based.
We’ve been living in a masculine-controlled, body-based world by agreement, but that agreement is changing.
The divine feminine energies are flooding in. These energies include nurturing, caring for, and loving each other and our planet. They also incorporate consciousness and a renewed connection with our spiritual essence.
And yes, those energies threaten the good-ole boys, male status quo.
It’s interesting to note that amid my rage about the overturning of Roe v. Wade, I saw an image of more comprehensive and humane protections on the horizon.
Although it feels like it, we are not stepping backward, we are stepping up. We are paving the way and creating space to balance the masculine and feminine and the mind, body, and spirit.
That said, if we want to move forward, we each must step up in our own way. We must add our voices and our lights to balance the scales. And make no mistake, it will take all of us.
“We will not march back to what was, but move to what shall be: A country that is bruised but whole, benevolent but bold, fierce, and free. We will not be turned around or interrupted by intimidation because we know our inaction and inertia will be the inheritance of the next generation. Our blunders become their burdens. But one thing is certain: If we merge mercy with might, and might with right, then love becomes our legacy and change, our children’s birthright.”
