Summary

The author expresses deep concern over the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, viewing it as an attack on women's rights and autonomy, and connects it to broader issues of systemic racism, classism, and the manipulation of religious sentiment in politics.

Abstract

The provided text is a passionate critique of the political and social implications of overturning Roe v. Wade. The author argues that this decision is a means to control women and maintain a white majority in the U.S. by limiting the reproductive rights of women, particularly those of color. The piece underscores the hypocrisy in the selective concern for life, the systemic issues contributing to the marginalization of the poor and people of color, and the failure of the justice system to protect victims of sexual violence. It also challenges the narrative around prayer in schools, framing it as a tool for indoctrination and segregation rather than a matter of religious freedom. The author calls for informed voting and active participation in democracy to address these issues and work towards a more equitable society.

Opinions

  • The author vehemently opposes the overturning of Roe v. Wade, seeing it as a direct assault on women's rights and personal autonomy.
  • The decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is viewed as a strategy to maintain the current power structure, which is seen as reliant on a poor underclass and the marginalization of women.
  • The author suggests that the concern of those advocating for the overturning is not for the sanctity of life but rather for maintaining a white majority in the U.S.
  • There is a perceived hypocrisy in the treatment of white versus non-white immigrants and refugees, with systemic racism allowing for differential treatment.
  • The author is outraged by the justice system's failures in adequately addressing rape cases and supporting survivors of sexual violence.
  • The piece criticizes the use of religious arguments to control women's bodies and restrict their rights, emphasizing the concept of free will granted by God.
  • The debate over prayer in schools is framed as an issue of forced indoctrination and racism against those with differing beliefs.
  • The author encourages readers to vote and to do so with full awareness of the candidates' stances, aiming to elect officials who will fight for democracy and freedom for all.

Roe vs Wade Decision and Prayer in School

I got some things to get off my chest, for the holy rollers

Understand this, I will never side with a decision that leads to further marginalization of women and that destroys personal autonomy. It’s the line in the sand, for me.

Roe v Wade is about control, of women, of the population, and keeping the current power structure firmly in place, which relies on a poor class of people to survive. Read capitalism.

Know that the people making this decision to overturn a long-held precedent, don’t care how many Black babies die whether it be in the womb or on the streets riddled with bullets, they care about white babies, and about out-birthing Black people and POC, to keep the U.S. as white as possible. Think, white immigrants and refugees are granted asylum while Brown immigrants and refugees are not.

So, if you want to be outraged, be outraged about that, be outraged about poor women who will suffer further, who are then shamed for being poor in a system designed to keep them that way. Be outraged about overpopulation, be outraged about greed, a broken educational system that discourages girls from pursuing careers in law and STEM, and a medical-industrial complex that doesn’t mind that Black women die in childbirth at the rate to match that of Black men being gunned down in the streets. Be outraged about that.

And don’t talk to me about murder, don’t talk to me about God’s word. God himself granted all, free-will. It’s men that decided to overstep their boundaries to oppress anyone who is not male and white, who decided to exercise that will.

Be outraged about a justice system that fails time and time again to catch and convict rapists, including those in law enforcement who rape. Be outraged about a justice system that allows survivors of sexual violence to be abused further by their abusers and bullied by the community at large. Be outraged about that.

Are you praying about that? Or are you still stuck on women having a voice for themselves and a sense of self-determination? Let me know. Please, search yourselves and wake up.

And another thing, it’s never been about denying those who want to pray in schools, the right to pray, it’s been about the abuse and ostracization of people who decide that maybe they don’t want to pray that day. It’s about forced indoctrination. It’s about segregation, and racism toward those who don’t share the same beliefs.

Early voting began yesterday, in my area and ends 5/20. You wanna change some things? Make sure you find out who’s on the ballots come 5/24, for those with elections on that day, and show up to vote. Make sure your decisions are informed then and in November. And for God’s sake, let your outrage release a wave of democracy-loving, freedom-fighting giants into our law houses, and let's finally realize a more perfect union, for all.
