Roaming Transmissions
The Boy with the Careless Smile
Earth’s human population decline gave birth to Avatar Inc in 2038. The company rapidly grew to compensate for the falling of humanity. Right from the start, the main purpose of the company was nothing less than to archive the history of humanity. Real non-robotic genuine humans were progressively endangered.
Avatar Inc designed and created batches of unique sympathetic avatars. Their physical diversities was important to have them blend colorfully among the humans. Wishing, to ensure all robots to have the same intellectual level and to ensure easy overnight updates of their artificial intelligence algorithms, their brains were built on one unique design.
Incorporating the finest main androids shape-memory card chips, their minds were build out of ageless metallic alloys made of titanium and nickel, with some copper and a dash of cobalt. These non-temporal memory card chips were built to archive and preserve the complete history of humanity.

Avatar Inc baptized their androids as the IN-Generation or the IN-Gens. Their bulky pupil eyes reflected sequential blinking infinite light bulbs. Humans intermingled daily harmlessly with the IN-Gens by staring at their sparkling bulb eyes screens.
As years passed, the replacement of humans by androids of the IN-Generation was done gradually without exhaustive statistics or fear from the genuine human population. Basically, as an authentic human died, he was replaced by two robots to compensate naturally for the drop in the human birth rate.

The newer androids of the IN-Gens were placed to live with humans to absorb as much as possible the integrity of their human essence. Knowledge transfers between humans and the IN-Generation was one of the main priorities of Avatar Inc.
By 2049, Avatars Inc was the world’s unique producer of the robotic avatars. The IN-Gens acquired human’s senses, actions, and presence to a remote location in real time. For the next three decades, they developed thousands of avatar models and enabled millions of operator-hours.
In 2079, Avatar Inc launched a campaign to physically retrieve, preserve and archive the shape-memory card chips from their most valuable IN-Generation androids. They roamed the world, and deep into the solar system, to acquire their top shape-memory card chips containing IN-Gens most complete and accurate memories spanning the 21st century.

Unfortunately, this long-term process brought to light to Avatar Inc the disappearance of one of the shape-memory card chips. Avatar Inc digital registers show that the last roaming transmission from the missing IN-Gen android was detected roughly around 2076 from an unidentified location. The missing IN-Gen android was known as Aiden the IN-Gen.
In 2072 a time where meaning has become meaningless. Where surprises have become a repetition. Where the little and simple no longer existed, where no more enjoyment existed. It was a time of nothingness. For an IN-Gen traveling through different areas nothing was different, no tasteful fashion or art, everyone was dull and boring. The IN-Gen has no means of learning anything new because there was nothing new. That is until one IN-Gen met a boy that would impact his life for good.

On a fruitful evening a hopeful moonlight lit night the IN-Gen was wandering through a town that it never visited before called “Dry”. It’s funny why the name was chosen when it was quite the opposite in this town. The air was fresh and new, the breeze of the wind was air light and smelled inspiring.
The IN-Gen was intrigued. Walking on a road that smelled like candy and the clouds were made out of a fluffy substance. Things were different here.
Life was more inspiring, although it was night you could begin to feel that life was blooming here and hope was still a hopeful feeling. Unsure where to go the IN-Gen continued down the street. There were little modern homes each with different types of shapes like some looked like apples, some looked like trees.
It was like this town was not affected by time, it was peacefully inclined and beautifully projected. This fascinated the IN-Gen with even more curiosity, as it advanced through the main long street of the “Dry” town.

After walking for hours and absorbing all sorts of scenery, the IN-Gen grew tired. It sat down at a huge tree near a forest at the end of the road which it had finally reached. It reached out a sketchbook and began to draw the scenery.
Drawing every little detail of what it encountered. From the bumpy but smooth grey textured road. To the homes that shone with its audacity and lights and different colors painted on the outer exterior walls. The grass that glistened with rainbow colors they were beautiful lights. It was a vintage feel with an added eccentricity and modernity.

After drawing every little detail, the IN-Gen began to look up and stare into the fascinating darkness above with bright little stars. The sky was embracing the IN-Gen with a show of dancing stars and glistening meteor shower.
As in this time even humans were robotic emotionally and empty, except there were people in this town that were different like the IN-Gen was. Standing out with a personality, taste and curiosity. This IN-Gen never felt at ease or relaxed in the other areas that it had encountered. After all, his creator had the biggest heart in the world metaphorically speaking.
Andrea the IN-Gen’s creator was a visionary, who enjoyed to travel, to wander in the world and to take the time to enjoy his surroundings while remaining peaceful and empathetic. After his years of traveling through the world and enjoying the simple things of life, Andrea’s spirit slowly was diminishing, he was dying. Obsessed with having an heir and wanting to have his dreams continued on, he took a child that was abandoned and broken physically and emotionally made him into a hybrid IN-Gen slash human.
First of its kind unique and different. A successful toy, but not a boy. Tired of being a toy, the IN-Gen left to be a boy. Venturing in unknown places and continuing his creator’s dreams while working on finding his own dreams and purpose. All the venturing through life it led him here to this little town a hidden gem that may be the only one left in the world of dull. And he was loving it. The IN-Gen hybrid got up from the spot he was chilling at and began to enter the forest. Before entering he closed his small notebook and put it in his pocket. He began to walk into the forest and saw little butterflies with wings that had a glow in the dark floating aura on them.

The colors were bright pink and a very light white. He smiled and reached out with his arm hoping that maybe the butterfly would land on his metallic left arm. And his wish became true the little butterfly sat on his arm and smiled with its cute little face. He began to feel at home in an unfamiliar place, a place where he could finally rest and feel at ease.
The IN-Gen looked at the smiling butterfly and smiled back, the butterfly then flew away. The IN-Gen resumed walking through the forest and encountering nature’s gift and wonders.
After walking for a couple minutes, he reached the beach and there he was. A tall beautiful boy with red hair, wearing a white shirt and black checkered boxers. The IN-Gen curiously looked at the boy from afar, the boy then noticed the android. Walked towards it and then said:
“Hey there, who are you and your little friend?” The boy said pointing to the little butterfly that had flew back on the IN-Gen’s shoulder.
The IN-Gen looked over its shoulder and noticed the cute butterfly had followed him. The IN-Gen blushed and smiled back at the boy.
“Oh, I guess my little friend followed me here. I don’t have a name what about you?”
The boy smiled. It was a smile that you can never forget that marked you in your heart and it truly marked the IN-Gen’s heart.
“My name is Life! I want to name you Aiden is that cool?”
Before Aiden had a time to respond Life kissed Aiden on the cheek.
Aiden confused flustered, highly excited unsure what to feel, except he did. He started feeling alive.
“Um thanks, so I guess my name is Aiden the IN-Gen now. Nice to meet you Life, but um why did you kiss me ha-ha?”
Life began to blush and said,
“I don’t know you look cute!”
Aiden the IN-Gen blushed so did Life. They both liked the connection. Aiden found more than his place on the world he found life.

The boy with a careless smile brightened his world. And from then on, they could face this dull world together!
Time spent between Aiden the IN-Gen with the very original human boy, known as Life, caused anomalies in Aiden’s main core processors.
These unsuspected minor technological defects were undetected within the central servers of Avatar Inc. Aiden’s inner imperfections were not visible physically.
Even with his new malfunctions, Aiden the IN-Gen was still able to fulfill its primary mission in absorbing completely the history of humanity in the most possible statistically precise manner.
But even more surprisingly, the essence of humanity as we know it has been inexplicably transferred symbiotically between the boy known as Life and Aiden the IN-Gen.
In 2076, right before losing his roaming transmission, Aiden recorded in his memory chips his android to humanoid transformation:
Sitting by your side
Needed equilibrium
Intertwined words
Calmed our souls
Mind, soul and spirit

Their shared space-time was crucial in the transfer of Life’s genuine human essence within Aiden the IN-Gen’s newly formatted hard disk body. Aiden’s ricochets eyeballs, pumping Life’s heart’s aorta, reverberated his senses, draining emotions, replacing exchanges, mirroring existences.
The newly integrated human essence within Aiden the IN-Gen’s caused an interruption in the transfer of the roaming transmissions between Aiden’s shape-memory chips to the central office of Avatar Inc.
Losing all possible traceability between Avatar Inc servers and Aiden the IN-Gen’s shape-memory chips, Life the boy, transformed the android. Giving Aiden his humanity. This symbiosis inevitably stopped Aiden’s memory chips emitting back to Avatar’s central servers because Aiden became human.

2079 marked the death of modern days of artificial intelligence. Surprisingly, in three years, Aiden’s humanity transformed cold applications by slowly converting thousands of androids civilizations. Aiden’s mission was to recode unemotional humanoids automatons cold mechanical devices processors with rebooting scripts building emotional responsive androids.
Aiden’s coding spreading rapidly Life’s emotional intelligence (EI) essence judged by Aiden to be more vital than high IQ artificial intelligence.
