The Roads She Runs On

The Streets she leaves behind.

She had the best shoes and she used to run in them. Life was pretty smooth until she moved from the streets to the roads. Roads were tougher than she had thought. The shoes wore away and she had to eventually take them off. Life was no more smooth. But she had to run. And so she did. Fast, slow, bruised and tired.

She kept running for miles and miles, till she realized that the roads never really end. And neither were those roads loyal to one place nor kind enough to give breaks. But she had to run. And so she did. Unattached, unstoppable and unconsolidated.

Along the way somethings, most things got left behind. People, places, pains, patterns and purpose. But what really mattered, remained. Roads, run and her.

She still runs bare feet, blazing and blessed, On the very same roads which you too have been on, many a times in your head.
