2022. Yet another new year. We all hope it’s better than the last two. Covid, well, the fear of Covid, has done a number on our whole world. The disease itself has killed millions worldwide, but the fear has devastated our everything.

Hate in all it’s myriad forms has further pushed us all toward the edge. It has become increasingly more difficult to focus on the good, harder to keep an open mind about the supposed neutrality of fate.

My last year has been… Crap. In particular, the last month, well, let’s just say December kicked my ass.. thoroughly, as bad as if it were a crazy drunk redneck with a pool cue and a load on.

Hope and faith keep us moving forward. Hope that everything is going to get better, that somehow we are going to bounce back from even this mess. Faith, that we all have the sticktoitiveness to keep our shit together and keep putting one foot in front of the other, to gather our resolve and shove this wave of darkness back, to force it back until we can see the bright sunlight and feel the warmth that we somehow know ARE STILL THERE, regardless of our ability to see them.

We all have one another to lean on, we are all in this together, no matter our race, color, creed, background, we are all humans and we need to lock arms, keep our heads up, and face this shit together!

So, say it with me. Screw 2020. Screw 2021. 2022…well that’s gonna be our year, the year we all rise up and beat this despair that has been creeping up on us.

Are you all with me?
