Summary

The website content presents a poetic exploration of the concept of having rice pudding for breakfast, challenging the conventional norms of breakfast foods by drawing parallels between the ingredients of rice pudding and breakfast cereal.

Abstract

The article titled "Rice Pudding" features a creative take on the idea of "Breakfast For Dinner," showcasing an Etheree and Reverse Etheree poem. It describes the traditional components of breakfast, such as grains, sugar, and milk, and compares them to the ingredients found in rice pudding. The author, Rhonda Marrone, uses the poem to question why rice pudding, which shares the same base ingredients as cereal, is not considered a breakfast item. The piece suggests that leftover rice can be repurposed into a delicious breakfast pudding, blurring the lines between what is typically eaten for breakfast and what is acceptable for dinner. The article also acknowledges Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 for providing the writing prompt and includes a link to a related poem, "Ode to Cereal," which further delves into the theme of cereal as a breakfast staple.

grains, sugar, milk, (either cows’, soy, oat…), cold or heated, buttered toast, juice. cereal is a breakfast staple: expected accepted. rice pudding is not, even though it’s grain, milk, sugar, spice… exact content as breakfast cereal.

left-over rice from yesterday’s take-out used to make delectable pudding: ingredients no different than rice breakfast cereal. why not breakfast pudding? pudding for breakfast leads soundly to pudding for dinner too!
