Rhythms Continue Playing

As I hike along nature’s wooded trails Sun’s radiant warmth upon my face And warm inner feelings in my heart, Spy two black squirrels climbing trees An extraordinary sight not often seen.
Distracting thoughts spoil observations As they race through my mind nonstop, Deeply breathing to reunite with present Drifting thoughts evaporate into space, Watching carefully where my trail leads.
Hiking up into new inclined terrain Shaded by hearty trees’ thick foliage As sweating runner comes speeding by, Approaching a sculpted stone structure Strange looking bench alone in woods.
Descending from this inclined hill Down to where gushing river flows, Keen awareness, ethereal presences, And nature’s rhythms continue playing.
