Secrets to Rewind Your Face 5 Years
I’ll show you how — without makeup or expensive treatments
Are you starting to notice those pesky signs of aging? If you’re my age [forty-seven going on 28], there isn’t only one sign, there are many, and they’re multiplying like ants at a picnic, creating your own facial “GPS”: a series of lines crisscrossing other lines, exits, bypasses, and the like.
These lines start on your face but their marks go deeper than the surface they cover. Their tentacles attach to your self-confidence, your emotions, and they subconsciously infect your interactions with people every day.
You look longingly back at the “you” from your younger years, wishing there was a way to resurrect that rosy-cheeked, line-free woman who felt confident and beautiful.
Well, my friends, there is a way to turn back the clock.
Now, if you’re fifty, I’m not promising you the baby-smooth skin of a twenty-year-old. Nothing can work that miracle — even the fairy godmother’s wand doesn’t hold that kind of magic.
But you can look younger.
It will take time, but if used continually in a consistent regime, your skin will be clearer, less lined, less spotted, and more glowy than it has in years.
The “Queen” of Reversing Time: Retin-A
There are always new gimmicks in the beauty industry, promising fewer lines, fewer wrinkles, more smooth and youthful skin, but Retin-A is the one product that all dermatologists and aestheticians agree has a real impact.
In an article from the New York Times entitled “The Thing About Retin A: It Works,” author Sally Wadyka cites Dr. Joel L. Cohen, a University of Colorado assistant professor of dermatology. He states, “There is so much historical evidence that this ingredient works better than anything else. It actually works to remodel skin on a cellular level.”
Want more proof?
Kathleen Felton’s article in Health.com quotes Dr. Anna Guanche, a celebrity beauty specialist, and dermatologist. She says, “You’ll be hard-pressed to find a single dermatologist who is not using Retin-A. It’s the most powerful anti-aging topical known to us at this time.”
So what does this “miracle beauty must-have” do?
- it stimulates cell turnover
- it repairs collagen and elastin [which make your skin firmer] and stimulates their production
- it increases blood flow to the skin
- it thickens the skin through its ability to produce collagen
- it helps control sebum [a double-bonus for those of us who suffer from both adult acne and wrinkles]
Purchasing Retin-A
For starters, Retin-A can only be prescribed by your doctor or dermatologist.
Yes, there are many products that you can buy in your local beauty or drug store that contain retinol, but this is the slower, less potent derivative of the product.
While Retin-A is more powerful, some beginners may want to start with these products, as they are less irritating and may work better for sensitive skin.
If you choose to try Retin-A, it will cost you around 100 dollars a tube. Depending on your usage, this will likely last you one to three months.
It may seem a hefty price tag, but not if you consider the plethora of twenty-dollar creams and serums that you purchase to only see soon after as having zero effect of improvement.
Starting the Product, and Words of Warning
The reason one tube of Retin-A will last a while is that you only need a pea-size amount of product.
It is best to use at night. Wait at least twenty or so minutes after you have washed your face to apply the cream, as it will be less likely to irritate.
You may want to even use a moisturizer after you apply the product to cut down on dryness or help lessen peeling or irritation.
Most dermatologists recommend starting slowly, using once every other day or every three days. Slathering this stuff on mercilessly with not make it work better, it will be too harsh for adapting skin.
Also, always wear sunscreen while on Retin-A, as it can cause greater sensitivity to the sun.
I’ve told you all the wonderful things that this cream can do, but like all good things, you have to pay upfront, and I’m not just talking about money.
Retin-A usually requires a period of adaptation. Most positive results start to be seen after a period of three months, so patience is required. You will not only have to be patient to see the positive results, but you must also be willing to endure the adjustment period, which can include things such as redness, peeling, flaking, breakouts, and the like. If these symptoms arise, or others such as burning, lower the frequency and amount of the product.
No matter how careful you are in the application, the first couple of months won’t be fun[or pretty]. However, if you are patient, the good results will come.
The Bottom Line:
Here’s a picture of me last year at 46. No filters or editing. It is my belief that part of my youthful look is due to a lifetime of good skincare — importantly Retin-A.

Go ahead. Do your own research. You’ll find that Retin-A is considered the “gold standard” when it comes to a product that actually makes a difference in aging skin.
If used with patience and care, you will start to see wonderful improvements that remind you while Mother Nature may not be able to be stopped, she sure as heck can be slowed down.
Good luck and see you [five years ago].
