Review of Don't Look Up
A movie review.

Don't Look Up Movie Review.
It came out on Christmas Day, and I survived Christmas. There are many things to be grateful for, and there is much love to share.
Here goes my Don't Look Up review — if you haven't watched it, you may skip my story as it may be a ginormous spoiler.
You might be wondering if I shouldn't have watched it on Christmas day, and do something nicer instead. But it is the perfect day to watch a movie when you consider that we are all gonna die.
First,Don't Look Up is a comedy, and it delivers not the big belly laughs but the ones where there is nothing else left to do but laugh it away.
What would you do if the world were about to end?
This isn't the first movie that tackled the what if. A question we only ask ourselves if things don't go well in our lives, or once we realize we are nothing but specks in the Universe and by grand design, and that nothing will remain as it was.
In the movie, the character played by Jennifer Lawrence discovers a comet. At first, it made her happy. As someone working on her Ph.D., it is a cause of celebration, but soon everyone finds out that the comet is on a collision course to Earth and that we (inhabitants of this small planet) will all die. This is a recurring theme and statement in the movie.
What happens next is a rude awakening for the scientists in a not-so-fictional representation of what is America today.
Taken from outside of the country, America to the rest of the world looks like a mess, and some even say that America is on the brink of destruction, self-destruction.
And to me, the comet in the movie represents that, in a way. That we all are too detached from what is happening around the world that we fail to see how we are destroying our planet and our humanity.
The movie is all about us, from how we consume social media to how news must be digestible. Otherwise, no one wants to read or listen to them in full.
How the gatekeepers of information can sometimes be the problem’
How we are disunited, and the issues of this world never go away.
The world ends.
Don't miss Don't Look Up's ending: there is no message of hope or the happy ending we would want to see.
And if we don't act now, the world may not survive. Not because of a comet but because we are destroying it, and it starts with how we destroy each other.
The movie made me realize that if the world is ending tomorrow, I would be with the people I love and care about, share stories, food, and coffee.
Message from the movie is: nothing matters but every second can mean something, for now you mean everything to me.
Make every second count because we genuinely never know if there will be a world waiting for us tomorrow.
