(Revenge) Turn The Other Cheek. Be The Bigger Person

If evil is being done to you don’t forget you do evil too. Do not take matters into your own hands, you don’t know how things might escalate and who you might become. Don’t let your pride, your ego do the talking. If they want a fight don’t give it to them. Protect yourself if you’re about to suffer bodily harm, but other than that, swallow your pride and walk away.

When you take matters into your own hands, you’re telling God you don’t trust Him. You don’t trust His sense of justice. Don’t repay evil for evil. Turning the other cheek doesn’t make you a doormat.

People will call you so, but their opinion is irrelevant. They support the people doing evil but criticize the victim for not feeding into the negative energy. They’re not with God and they think payback is the right thing to do.

It’s hard not to seek revenge. However, you can only ask for justice. Do your best to not think about them, focus on God’s grace and move on with your life. Trust God, He knows what He’s doing. And at the end of the day, they’re weights making you stronger.

You don’t know how them testing your patience is going to pay out in the future. Where something like the end of the world is happening and while they’re panicking, you’re chilling because they never had to face the adversities you’re going through. Or how their annoying behavior might give someone else writing material to profit off of, while helping others who are going through the same thing.

Don’t get revenge because you will become someone who you don’t recognize. And once you break one boundary you will break another and another. Becoming even worse than the people who’ve hurt you.

In your attempt to make right what was done wrong to you, you’re using wrong to prove a point. You cannot show people the difference between right and wrong by doing wrong. Because all you’ll be doing is showing them that doing wrong is the right option according to your mood. Instead of showing them that doing wrong is only an option for wicked people.

Sorry you’re a puppy who’s being abused. But you have to grow up to be a loyal dog to God, not the big bad wolf that no one messes with. You’re meek you’re not weak, and blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

You can’t be part of the system. You can’t give momentum to the pendulum. It doesn’t make sense that since you can’t change the world, you’re letting the world change you. Making other people finally respect you.

What? They can only respect aggressiveness, disrespect, ego-driven conflict? The potential of violence where if someone ends up in the hospital or dead, no one will care. They were just there for the entertainment. Are those the people who you need respect from?

What about the respect from God? He knows you could’ve easily succumbed to your flesh but chose Him. It’s all about self-control, something the enemy does not possess.

They don’t have compassion; they don’t care about the consequences. And you want to be like them?

Your blood boils, your chest gets tight every time you think about the things that were done to you. And even knowing that everyone will reap what they have sown, you want to be the one to do it. You want to see it happening. But you probably won’t or need to see it at all. You really don’t. It would be fun for a moment, but you don’t need to rejoice in others downfall.

And who knows, maybe one day they will repent of their actions, come to Jesus, beg for your forgiveness, and don’t have to suffer the consequences of their actions. Would you be okay with that? I’m not saying you’d have to have them in your life. However, would you be okay with them not suffering for what they’ve done to you?

Because if not, remember, just as Christ has forgiven you of your sins, so can He forgive them of theirs. And if you still want retribution, now you’re the one that God has to turn His back to.

And let’s be honest, if it makes you feel any better, if they really have changed, every time they think about their past actions, they’ll beat themselves up. So, in the end, they do end up suffering. Not that that is a good thing. According to Jesus, not me.

The devil is real, and in a war the only who wins is him. Those who think we’re weak for walking away from meaningless conflicts, are people who we don’t want on our side anyway.

You will suffer physically, mentally, and emotionally for living a godly life, but that’s the best that life has to offer. Because if you can make through it, you can make through anything and will be able to receive everything that God has to offer.
