Since many students are scratching their heads over how to find jobs and earn money abroad, I thought I’d write an article to expand everyone’s thinking. Instead of sticking to one country, relying on the government, or hoping for someone else to hand you an employment, why not open up your mind to other possibilities?

Let’s chat about my income for this month and see how I’ve achieved a life of freedom:

1. Membership Fees for the Planet Knowledge-Sharing Group: 40% of Income

This is a platform where I share knowledge with friends in China, kinda like OnlyFans, mainly sharing my life and experiences. It’s attracted friends who want to live a life like mine.

So, I haven’t really pushed hard to sell; I just share my daily life and experiences now and then, ’cause I’m already living the dream life I want. If you like it, join in; if not, no worries.

2. Writing Income on Medium: 23% of Income

Medium is a platform for sharing content, kinda like YouTube/TikTok, but with words instead of videos.

It’s great for folks on a tight budget starting their own businesses or folks interested in writing.

I’ve got two accounts on Medium, one for “sexuality/dating” content and one for “digital nomads.”

Although my income dipped a bit this month due to my strategy changes in January, it’s still going okay.

3. Selling Digital Products on WeChat: 16% of Income

Wechat in China is like a combination of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook.

I sell digital products through my WeChat Official Account, like paywall articles on travel and making money for paid reading, plus some photography and videos.

Basically, if it provides value to people, you can sell any legal digital product.

I’ve tried other platforms before, but now I just stick to WeChat.

4. Bilibili Video Channel: 16% of Income

This is like the Chinese version of YouTube, and I mainly use it to attract viewers. The income isn’t much, but it’s something.

Plus, it’s passive, which is pretty hassle-free. I’ve got two accounts on Bilibili too.

5. Subscriptions on the “Buy Me Coffee” Website: 4% of Income

This website is like the overseas backup of my Planet. Since the server is abroad, I can speak freely without worrying about posts being deleted. So the content is super comprehensive.

And you can subscribe monthly, which has attracted some folks who want to give it a try.

Subscriptions were pretty good this month.

6. WeChat Advertising Revenue: Other

When your WeChat Official Account hits a certain number of subscribers, you start earning from ads. Thus, it’s quite like Google Adsense.

The amount isn’t huge, but it still makes me happy. After all, it’s the only reward I get for my purely Chinese text.

However, I believe as time goes on and my subscriber count grows, my income will increase too, helping me achieve financial freedom.

These are my current six sources of passive income without any geographical limits, which have helped ease the financial pressure during my travels and make my budget more flexible. And of course, I gotta admit, the key to my financial freedom is investing, not just working or creating content. For example, overseas, I’ve got rental income from properties in Australia, and I get dividends from stocks (like Microsoft, Apple, and Maotai). Even though dividends are usually paid out every quarter or so, last year these stocks brought in a good amount of income, with just the dividends from one Maotai stock covering my expenses for a whole year. That’s the confidence behind my globetrotting without working. It lets me focus on content creation without worrying about money, and just enjoy life.

So, in short: for regular folks like us, investing wisely is the way to financial freedom.

最近群里涌进了不少新人，感觉很多人对自己的未来规划都有些模糊，比如说移民啊，找工作啊，一头雾水的。哎，历史的车轮滚滚向前，我们只能顺势而为，抱怨又有啥用呢？有些工作注定是要消失的，但是你自己的独立能力、持续学习的精神可是永远都不会过时的。

考虑到很多同学都在为如何在外国找工作、赚钱而头疼，我就想写篇文章，给大家开拓一下思路。别总是把自己局限在一个国家，依赖政府或者指望别人给你一份工作，然后用时间换钱。不如放开思维，看看还有没有其他可能性。

咱们来谈谈我这个月的收入吧，看看我是怎么实现自由自在的生活的：

1. 星球知识分享团体入会费：占收入的40%

这是个给国内朋友的知识付费分享平台，类似于OnlyFans，主要分享我的生活和心得。吸引了一众想过上我这种生活的好朋友。所以我并没有费太大劲宣传销售，只是时不时分享自己的日常和心得，因为我现在就在过着我想要的梦想生活。你喜欢就来，不喜欢就离开。

启发就是：

真诚地过好每一天，和欣赏你的人在一起，远离有毒消极的人。活出自己想要的生活，这种分享本身就很有价值。

2. Medium 写作收入：占收入的23%

Medium是个内容分享平台，类似于YouTube/TikTok，不过是使用文字而非视频来传播信息。

适合预算有限的人开始个人创业或者对写作有兴趣的人。

我在Medium上有两个账号，一个是针对“两性”内容的，一个是“步行街”的。

虽然这个月因为改版，收入有点下滑，但也还过得去。

3. WeChat 数字作品销售：占收入的16%

我利用微信公众号卖数字产品，比如关于一些旅行、赚钱的文章付费阅读，还有一些摄影和视频。

总之，只要能给人们带来价值，你就能卖出任何合法合规的数字产品。

我之前也在其他平台试过，不过现在懒得折腾了，就只在微信上搞了。

4. Billi Billi 视频频道：占收入的16%

这就是国内版的youtube啦，我主要用它来引流。虽然收入不多，但是也是有一点的。

而且是自动挣的，挺省心的。我在B站也有两个账号。

5. 请我喝咖啡的官网订阅：占收入的4%

这个网站可以说是我星球的海外备份版本。因为服务器在国外，所以我可以在上面说真心话，不用担心被删帖。所以内容可以说是最全的。

而且可以按月订阅，吸引了一些想尝试的人。

这个月订阅量还不错。

6. WeChat 广告收入：其他

微信公众号当你的订阅人数达到一定数额后，会产生广告的收入。虽然金额不大，但是我还是很开心啦。毕竟这是我纯汉语文字的唯一奖励呢。

我相信，随着时间的推移和订阅量的增加，我的收入也会有所增长，对我的财务自由有所帮助。

这就是我目前的六个无地理限制的被动收入来源，一定程度上缓解了我旅行中的财务压力，让我的预算更有弹性。

当然啦，我必须承认的是：我的财务自由的本质是投资，而不是工作/内容创作。

比如在海外，我有澳洲的房产租赁收入，我有股票分红（包括微软、苹果和茅台等知名公司）。尽管分红通常按季度或半年计算，但去年这些股票为我带来了可观的收入，比如茅台一只股票的收入就够支付我一年的开销了。

这才是我环球旅行，不再工作的底气。让我完全不用担心变现的问题，轻松愉快地从事内容创作，享受着生活。

所以最后：对于我们这些普通人，做好投资才是财务自由的正道。
