Summary

A recent disclosure by former Air Force officer David Grusch suggests the existence of crashed alien spaceships and multiple species of extraterrestrial beings, but the absence of tangible evidence has sparked skepticism and parallels to historical science fiction narratives.

Abstract

David Grusch, a former member of U.S. imaging and intelligence groups, has come forward with claims of non-human vehicles and their pilots recovered from crash sites. His assertions, which have created a buzz in UFO circles, include the existence of a secret government agency managing these incidents. Despite the excitement, Grusch's accounts lack direct evidence or photographs, leading to doubts and comparisons to the Roswell incident of 1947. The narrative is further complicated by connections to other paranormal phenomena, suggesting a blend of science fiction and a desire for the extraordinary over realism.

Opinions

  • Some UFO enthusiasts are optimistic that Grusch's revelations signal an imminent full disclosure of extraterrestrial life.
  • Skeptics point out the lack of concrete evidence and the implausibility of a decades-long, leak-proof secret by multiple governments.
  • The portrayal of aliens as little bulb-headed humanoids piloting disk-shaped vehicles is seen as outdated, reminiscent of 1947 Roswell-era science fiction.
  • There is a noted correlation between UFO belief and other paranormal phenomena, with enthusiasts often incorporating ideas of trans-dimensional travel, time travel, and subterranean cities.
  • The absence of civilian discovery of UFO evidence suggests a perfect containment by governments, which is viewed as highly unlikely by some.
  • The involvement of individuals like Edgar Mitchell and Travis Taylor, who have beliefs in psychic phenomena and supernatural entities, adds a layer of the paranormal to the UFO discourse.
  • The desire for magic over realism is reflected in the enthusiasm for UFO and paranormal stories, as articulated by the character Blanche from "A Streetcar Named Desire."

Revealed: Crashed Spaceships, Alien Bodies, Astonishing Photos

Oh wait, there aren’t any photos

On the one hand, UFO visitors are so far beyond us we cannot imagine their superiority. On the other hand, a bunch of them have crashed and died on the earth.

This is the scenario suggested by the latest kerfuffle in UFO circles. A man named David Grusch recently revealed the news about the non-human vehicles and their pilots. He says there are multiple species of aliens found in the crashed ships.

Grusch is a former Air Force officer who worked in U.S. government imaging and intelligence groups and was involved in a couple UAP task forces.

He says there’s a clandestine government agency that deals with these fallen spacecraft and its activities are kept secret. He’s determined to blow the whistle on the evasion and lies surrounding the topic.

Many in the UFO community are convinced his revelation means the full truth will be revealed shortly. A few examples from Twitter:

  • Kids born at this time will have post-contact as their only reality. They won’t know what it was like to live in a time when we thought we were alone.
  • [People will be] going through the five stages of grief for their old worldview…
  • I think the biggest source of shock is going to be when people realize that we are like ants, if not microbes, in relation to the super-intelligence behind this.

Something’s missing

I admit that I’m just a microbe in comparison to the mighty ETs, but there’s a starship Enterprise-sized hole in this reporting: the lack of any tangible evidence.

Mr. Grusch hasn’t actually seen these things, nor has he even seen photos. Someone talked to someone else who saw something but they can’t share any evidence. Cool story, bro’.

An equally amazing story is that every government on earth with decent evidence has kept it locked up for 75 years. No leaks. They are perfect gatekeepers.

What about civilians? They never come across convincing evidence. When spaceships come crashing down, only governments get the photos, artifacts, and bodies.

Going old school

There’s something else a little wacky about the crashed ships and bodies story. The prospect of little bulb-headed humanoids jockeying disk-shaped vehicles through the skies seems more appropriate for Roswell in 1947. It matches science fiction narratives of the day.

When Grusch or others describe this sort of thing today it sounds quaint. Maybe that’s why many UFO enthusiasts toss in some special sauce about trans-dimensional warps, time travel, cities under the earth, and so on. It tends to blur the whole subject and leave it in the “anything is possible” realm.

UFOs and the Paranormal

That leads me to one last point. I’ve noticed a strong correlation between UFO enthusiasm and belief in ghosts and psychic phenomena. For example:

  • There’s much publicity and a TV show surrounding Skinwalker Ranch in Utah — a location of purported UFOs, ghost sightings, dinosaur-beavers, and other paranormal activity.
  • Edgar Mitchell, a former Apollo astronaut, was a staunch believer in ET spaceships and alien bodies. He also believed in remote psychic healing and experimented with telepathy.
  • An aerospace engineer named Travis Taylor functioned as the chief scientist for a government UAP report. He claims he’s been “tracked by supernatural entities that caused his car and appliances to malfunction.” Taylor has been featured on the Ancient Aliens show.

Follow the trail of any long UFO discussion on Reddit or Twitter and the supernatural frequently comes up. Maybe it’s because both subjects involve seldom seen, hard-to-pin-down phenomena.

Or maybe it’s because they agree with the character Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, “I don’t want realism. I want magic!”

More from Blanche: Yes, yes, magic! I try to give that to people. I misrepresent things to them. I don’t tell truth, I tell what ought to be truth. And if that is sinful, then let me be damned for it!
