Resurrection

Resurrection
I am the child
That asked questions
Deemed too wild,
No whys and how's
Were allowed.
Over years and years
I tried, I tried.
Truth and tradition
In my parents’ home
Swam separate
Like oil and water.
Years passed and
Still I’m the scapegoat
Sent out into the desert.
I left notes
Tied together with loops of hope
Beyond star, cross and crescent
My soul stretched
Away from scorpions,
In oasis of solitude, safe
North Star shining
I, the child
Reawakened.
