RESPECT RESPECT
Respect for The Disrespectful
Linked cinquain

Respect respect so I’ve been told. Not sure if I believe it’s true. Sometimes some people want respect for reasons sure to make me stew. At this point I don’t think I’m sold.
I show respect. I really do. It’s not a thing I would reject from those I don’t agree much with. Yet tell me who I should select and hurt the one right next to you.
These feelings fester and infect. So maybe I’ll just plead the fifth and then refuse to speak so bold. Though that would surely be a myth. That’s not the me that I’d expect.
A linked cinquain is a poem with eight syllable lines in iambic tetrameter with an abcba bcdcb cdadc rhyme scheme.
With all due respect, please read Carolyn Hastings’ Paper Poetry prompt piece for July with twittle included…
The month is rapidly coming to a close, yet someone out there will write a poem.
