Replies Are Not Optional
Comments are gifts deserving our thanks

Acknowledging those who read and respond to our words is common courtesy, no? I’m perplexed with how many writers never or rarely reply.
Perhaps it’s acceptable if the comments number in the hundreds? I’d welcome that dilemma—but no, not even then!
Writers write to be read. Without readers, our words are unseen; our voices are unheard. Unless you’re writing in a private diary, where the writer and reader are one and the same.
Each and every reader has value for the writer.
There is a perpetual supply of published words. So many writers, so little time! Which is why it’s imperative to let our readers know they’re seen and heard, too.
The privilege of our readers’ attention should never be taken for granted.
What’s your take? I’m listening!
