Reminiscing About That Sporty Femme
A fit and feisty female
It’s Women In Sports Day, which I translate to mean any story involving a woman playing a sport somewhere. Should be easy, right?
This one is a free-for-all. Make the main character a volleyball player. The whole story could be set at a track meet. Maybe you had a crush on that softball beauty from high school. As long as there’s a woman in sports, it counts!
Trans women included! Though no hate, alright? Remember to follow Medium’s guidelines (it’s their house).
Or, you can have weird experiential stories like this:
When I was like, 10 or so, I was playing a small softball game in my mom’s friends backyard with a bunch of kids I don’t think I even knew. The game was fun, though. I was focused. The rules were simplified, and I’m pretty sure the softball was a wiffle ball, but whatever. It was like a movie, everyone playing their part.
At some point, my young body told me it was time to poo. Bah! I am the master of my body, right? It could wait ten more minutes. It was my turn to bat, after all. As I swung, though, it seemed the contraction of muscles in my core squeezed my insides just right — and a thick log deposited itself in my overalls.
Fantastic.
It works because I’m a woman. (Girls count, too- it’s the female part that’s important, so long as there’s no gross sexualization going on. You know the rules, people.) 😉
Trauma or triumph, it’s all a story!
