Abstract

thrusting seashells at my feet gifts from ancient depths

I long to be there not to merely reminiscence wipe away these tears

this mourning for you that deep profound desire for a lover’s kiss

your silken touch immerses me within you washes away fear

my passion won’t wane even as you recede home once again, alone</p><p id="06f5">©2020 Lori Carlson</p><p id="8427"><b><i>If you enjoyed this poem, please consider this:</i></b></p><div id="4eac" class="link-block"> <a href="https://readmedium.com/an-illusion-of-song-118410666a69"> <div> <div> <h2>An Illusion of Song</h2> <div><h3>a Free Verse poem</h3></div> <div><p>medium.com</p></div> </div>

I wander, alone tracing memories of you ‘long beaten sand dunes

I hear your calling the quiet lull of swishing whitecaps billowing breathing in and out thrusting seashells at my feet gifts from ancient depths I long to be there not to merely reminiscence wipe away these tears this mourning for you that deep profound desire for a lover’s kiss your silken touch immerses me within you washes away fear my passion won’t wane even as you recede home once again, alone
