remember not to be unforgettable
free verse poetry

please don’t do that don’t touch me like fire, sending heat through my veins, pumping blood, pulsing don’t give me life to leave, my body a ghost town of wants and needs my hands take residence, roaming the intimate places, memories still haunt me with sensation
and I won’t do that I won’t open my words and speak history bleeding you into everything new, I will not make you immortal, I won’t give you an afterlife in an afterthought I’ll come back to it later I’ll come back to us later come back later one day when it hurts less
