Relax And Write: Unleash Your Creative Potential
The Benefits of Relaxation for Writers
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax,” Mark Black.
Many writers struggle with the lack of ideas or writer’s block. They are stressed, overwhelmed, and can’t focus on writing.
I’m no exception. Sometimes I’m too stressed or pushing myself too hard and forget to unwind, or simply don’t have the time or energy to do it.
I realised that it’s very self-destructive.
Why is relaxing important for writers?
Stress caused by work, daily life, or the lack of relaxation harms your body, kills motivation, and affects your writing negatively.
We’re not cyborgs.
Everyone needs to take a step back sometimes, and simply unwind, to have more energy, a clearer mind and feel more happy.
Rest and relaxation can help you with:
- Overcoming writer’s block
- Improving your mood
- Reducing stress and fatigue
- Improving concentration
How to relax?
"If you do what you love, it is the best way to relax.” — Christian Louboutin
Often, after I’m done writing, I’m playing online games, reading, watching funny movies, cooking, talking to friends and family, going for a walk, etc.
I reward myself with things I enjoy.
Even a little bit of leisure time is refreshing and gives me strength and motivation to keep writing.
I also recommend trying relaxation techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, or self care.
I hope my words will remind you to take some time off your busy schedule.
Relax and write.
