Refreshing My Reflections At The Water’s Edge

I’m laying back in my folding chair, the sun warming my face. The waves crash gently in front of me. I sink my toes further into the sand and sigh. I reflect on this past year, look at my husband, and smile.

The pandemic has been tough. Life changed as we knew it, and while we’re waiting for it to change back, a lot of uncertainties lay before us.

But, today I was able to forget all that. Instead, I took in the fresh sea air and thought about all of the wonderful things I have to be thankful for (there’s a lot!).

As I lay on the beach this morning on our first vacation in two years, I tried my best to save today’s memories for tougher times in the future.

It’s important to take stock of what we have and appreciate the silver linings.
