Red Pill or Blue Pill?
Which do YOU choose?

The terms “red pill” and “blue pill” refer to a choice between revealing an unpleasant or otherwise life-changing truth, represented by the red pill, and remaining in blissful ignorance, represented by the blue pill. The terms reference the 1999 film The Matrix.
No, I never saw the Matrix. *gasp*!
Using Wiki’s definitions I’m definitely a blue pill girl. I want to know. I want to know it all. And I want to know right now. Depending upon what the ‘know’ is, I also want to know what’s going to be done about it. Even if it means that I have to do it alone.
I spent a great deal of my life living in “blissful ignorance”. I was raised much like the Walton’s. No one locked their front doors at night. We kept our keys in the ignition, and our car windows rolled down. Kids played out of earshot and eyeballs, because they knew neighbors were watching them. And not in a creepy way. Don’t screw up eight blocks from home. You’d get a lecture from the entire neighborhood on the way home and then a spanking once you got there!
I drove a John Deere before I was old enough to drive a car. I worked for a paycheck starting at 15. Hard work, self-reliance, and neighbors protecting neighbors, were all that I knew of the world. That and the butterscotch candy my grandmother kept in her purse to keep us still on Sundays in church.
I didn’t get a taste of ‘real-life’ until I moved out of the rural area that I grew up in during the 70s, and moved into the DMV (DC/MD/VA area) at the ripe old age of 19.
I learned a lot. I learned it fast, too fast. And I learned 99.7% of it the hard way. Some have left lifelong scars on me.
But you can’t beat yourself up for what you don’t know. Recognize your mistakes. Learn your lessons. Trust yourself more than others. The rest will come.
So did anyone other than myself learn anything at all in 2020? Which one will you choose — the red pill or the blue pill?

I have some foodstuffs stashed in my pantry. Not a hoarder still, but it’s just me, so I don’t need a lot. I have first-aid and meds stocked, again not hoarded. Basics like batteries and flashlights are next on the list, with a few other things.
I bought two books from Amazon after watching this husband and wife duo.
They’re both in the military, and both are in the medical profession. They wrote both books, and I can’t think of another packaged set that I’d listen to, other than these two with their impeccable qualifications.
Am I freaking out? Absolutely not. I’m not the ‘freak out’ kind of person. I’ve literally seen dead bodies, (yes plural) and the outcome of some of the nastiest “humans” alive, (think 9/11, anthrax, etc.) so no, I don’t fall apart. It does no good and only makes situations worse.
Am I being a good steward and watch my own six?
You better believe it.
Be a part of the problem, or a part of the solution, so I’ll ask you one last time. Red pill or blue pill?
