# Summary

The web content presents a collaborative poem with contributions from various poets, including B. A. Cumberlidge and Arundhati, with the latest participant reflecting on the themes of imperative and twisted, and extending a tag to other poets for further continuation of the poem.

# Abstract

The "Never-ending poem" section on the website features a collective poetic endeavor where poets contribute their verses in response to given prompts. Two prior contributions by B. A. Cumberlidge and Arundhati are acknowledged, setting the stage for a new addition to the poem. The most recent verses, written by an unnamed poet, explore themes of trust, betrayal, and transformation. The poet reflects on a personal experience of having their life and emotions manipulated ("twisted") by someone they trusted. Despite the deception, the poet finds value in the experience, recognizing it as a necessary ordeal ("imperative") that has led to personal growth and the imperative to untangle and reconstruct their life. The poem concludes with an invitation to other poets to engage with the theme 'Rocket' and continue the poetic chain.

Never-ending poem

I was tagged in 2 branches of the never-ending poem, and decided to combine the 2 prompts into a single response. Below are the 2 originating poems from B. A. Cumberlidge. and Arundhati followed by my response to the prompts ‘Imperative’ and ‘Twisted’.

You twist my fringe between index finger and thumb saying you’ll be the wind beneath my wings; I believe you, knotting up my heart, twisting my life in two.

It is imperative that I believe; Imperative, for your ruse to succeed. So hard to hear a lamb bleat, and know there’s a wolf hidden beneath. Once an easy victim for a narcissist, perhaps- Wisdom’s imperative it is to strike with zaps.

My imperative is to untwist what you twisted To simplify, to rebuild, to recreate And in this recreation, I thank even your twisted soul, For giving my life an imperative.

I’m tagging some more poets to continue the chain if they wish to (anywhere on Medium), with the prompt ‘Rocket’: Somsubhra Banerjee Saurabh James G Brennan Amy Marley Ioana Andrei Charlotte Zobeir Ali
