Recover
A Poem

Faint hopes glow with that muted silver look
All horizons collapse into the same brevity
All horizons reach out of the tip of a needle
How long was this gonna take? how long do I have to stay still for…
Another hospital, another clinical glance
…and if I fall asleep will it get better when I get up…?
Poisoned thresholds, nerves in disarray
The solemn spikes and shots the numbing trying to make it last
Denied recovery, the superstructure of the critical gaze is always lit
Fixtures in different scrubs join the surreal image in this head
