And it’s so real! I personally have watched authors who were not getting many views to having tons of views and claps.

The publication takes care of the writers and supports them. Read their introduction below!👇

Introduction

Reciprocal is a community of writers and readers, who support their fellow authors. The publication aids in promoting the authors so that we can all come together as a devoted community. A safe place where your writing will be read by supporting fellow authors and you can be the supporting reader for your fellow authors. It’s a great way to connect and learn from each other.

The creator of this publication is Sahil Patel.

This guy is just so extraordinary in my book. English is not his first language, but he rules it!

Sahil is from India, born and raised. But he throws down English so masterfully!

He recently wrote a poem entitled, “I Am An Artist”

👇This poem was a tribute to all poets. — It’s a beautiful 1 min read — It starts like this:

I am an artist,

And I am honest with my art.

I am an artist of creativity,

And creativity takes courage.

I am an artist of words,

👆 The entire 1-minute poem is above.👆

Sahil joined Medium in October 2021

When he got busy becoming an Editor of Lifeline, Reciprocal, and The Summit. and became a Top writer in Poetry.

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I watched as he motivated many writers to support other writers, and all those writers took off! — It worked like a charm!👍

As for me, when I joined Medium, I was a very slow reader and had no earthly idea where this writing stuff would land me. I am a fast reader now and a writer! ✍🏼 Some crazy stuff, right?

The question is, how does reading other authors help you to achieve success on Medium?

I have the answer. We are Medium Partners!

  1. You just start writing.👉 I giggle when I read the first stuff I wrote. and then your writing starts to blossom.

2. You read other folks' work and your brain changes and learns even more. it’s fabulous!

Your brain is active when you write. Sahil was writing in a different language while in India, but his brain was writing. I am sure he writes in 2 languages now.

I used to dream in Spanish. It happens and it’s kinda cool.

So Your brain is active when you write, during the writing process, many parts of the brain become engaged. The more you write, the more a brain responds by establishing new neural connections within these regions.

So like anything your brain is learning by use and repetition.

Toddlers have a hard time walking at first, but through repetition, the brain masters the skill! So the more we read and, the more we write, the better we get!

Writer's brains are different!

Of course, scientists have studied this recently, and the scientists report in a new study in the journal NeuroImage, that the brains of expert writers appeared to work differently, even before they set pen to paper. During brainstorming, the novice writers activated their visual centers.

Writing does improve the brain! So we're in luck!

Writing by hand is also shown to increase memory and retention. The act of putting pen to paper activates areas of the brain that helps student increase their comprehension. It also involves more senses and motor neurons than when typing on a keyboard. (Sorry, I’m a keyboard gal.)

BINGO & BADDA-BING!, writing is great for mental health!

I always feel better after a good rant, and I love reading rants!

Journaling helps control your symptoms and improve your mood by helping you prioritize problems, fears, and concerns. Tracking any symptoms day-to-day so that you can recognize triggers and learn ways to better control them. Providing an opportunity for positive self-talk and identifying negative thoughts and

So let’s get busy writing and reaching out to each other and giving support. It’s so beautiful!

3. Feedback is huge! This is why building a community is so a must, like reciprocal! When we get feedback, we are not alone, out in some void. — Even a highlight says to the writer, “I WAS HERE!” — It warms my heart!🧡

4. Connecting on Medium. Can be kinda scaring to some. My email is [email protected]. I am here, so don’t think there is a problem with hitting me up with a question.

So who is this Jan Sebastian writer chick? … 🥜 (A COMPLETE NUT JOB?)

I had a stroke so I am disabled and am kicking major ass.…well in some ways. I can’t walk or talk well but I’m a writing MO-FO! Kickin’ serious BUTT 100%!

This is my silly stroke therapy video. The focus on my face is hilarious! A crazy-ass redhead who is not at all normal and proud of it. I love people and love helping them. Unconventional seems right. Fearless and focused.
