A recess, or what I have named recèce, can be a secluded place or part; a hidden secret that we all possess and comes to life while we freely explore receptiveness, expression, connection, evolution, creation and enlightenment. By taking the time to reflect, we can return to the chaos of our daily lives with the inner tools that bring awareness to our thoughts and actions along with a sense of contentment and stability. With all of the stresses that come along with life, and the negative health consequences it brings, it is important to take the time to breathe and connect with our inner essence. We can lose touch with our authentic self and by taking a recèce to work on ourselves we may find peace and rest allowing us to feel fresh and energized as we reenter life with all of it’s havoc.

Be RECEPTIVE to different forms of gifts:

- Help

When we are busy and overwhelmed, we do not always put ourselves first and if self-care is not a priority, we may experience mental, physical and emotional suffering. By receiving help, we can get to the root of our issues and become motivated by hope.

- Love

By letting go of past hardships and moving through difficult barriers, we can become open to receiving love.

- Input

Being receptive to what we may not want to hear can lead to better communication and personal growth. By letting down our stubborn masks of denial and receiving input from loved ones, we may find ourselves freed from the inner deceptions that had held us back in the past.

Find outlets through healing methods of EXPRESSION:

- Creativity

For some, creative expression allows for a therapeutic escape. With freedom of expression, the creator can find a healthy outlet that brings clarity to a previously clouded mind and results in accomplishments and reflection.

- Communication

By getting in touch with ourselves, we are able to better communicate our feelings, which allows for stronger relationships and deeper connections.

- Movement

Through physical expression, such as touch and affection, we may create loving bonds. By exerting energy with movement, we may feel stronger and more centered with our body.

Face your fears by CONNECTING to the unknown:

- Socially

By being social and getting involved with the community, we expand our networks, learn teamwork and build lasting relationships.

- Intellectually

We may learn a lot from ourselves and others by intellectually connecting one-on-one or in a group setting.

- Emotionally

By connecting socially, we can work towards a higher emotional intelligence allowing for greater compassion and empathy as well as a better understanding of our own emotional needs.

Seek personal growth and find EVOLUTION in your life:

- Wisely

With time and age, we become wiser and our perspectives change. We learn from our mistakes and see life with all of its complications.

As we evolve and go through different life transitions, we try to let go of the past and move towards a more fulfilling future.

We can prepare for the future by planning wisely. Patience may be key while we evolve into the best version of ourselves.

Success can be defined in many ways and by using the tools we have wisely and striving towards excellence, we may achieve great accomplishments while keeping in mind what’s important.

By accepting that dreams do not always come true and finding contentment in the present, joy and bliss may easily enter our lives.

Mental and emotional strength keep us persevering through life’s inevitable hardships. Physical health such as diet and exercise is important for our overall wellbeing.

Through forgiveness, the blockades we had built crumble and we find freedom. We are no longer prisoners to our detrimental emotions and we may now move forward with our lives.

By taking a break and finding outlets through expression, we move towards better understanding ourselves and connecting to the unknown. Through social, intellectual, and emotional connection, we evolve wisely and mindfully with the newfound capability of creating personal success and happiness. Finally, we may reach an enlightened state of forgiveness, acceptance and awareness. After experiencing the recèce and finding the mental clarity it ignited, our once imprisoned or chaotic mind may now feel free to reenter life with a bright, new perspective. By reminiscing on the escape and play that our childhood recesses offered, we can remind ourselves to not lose touch with our authentic self and continue these mental, emotional, physical and spiritual hiatus’s every so often.
