INTRODUCTION to the animated world where everything began

INTRODUCTION to The REALM of QUARKOPOLIS

The story that you’re about to read, or at least start reading, is based on three concepts that when combined become a truly intriguing narrative.

  1. Miniaturization
  2. Imagination
  3. Challenge

MINIATURIZATION

Miniature dogs, babies, dolls, people. There’s a certain charm that tiny people have as in Gullivers Travels or The Borrowers. Where’s there’s little people there are minuscule houses or dwellings, animals. Isaac Asimov’s Fantastic Voyage is a favorite. A mini spaceship traveling through the body of a sick man is certainly a classic idea.

IMAGINATION

Being imaginative without outside stimulation is difficult if not impossible for some. Reading some genres such as fantasy and scifi can help with this since they tend to be imaginative and somewhat different. A Wrinkle in Time and Isaac Asimov’s Robot Series are examples of fantastic books written by imaginative authors.

CHALLENGE

Challenging puzzles and games. There’s no limit to the interest that I have in competing or playing games. There are so many examples but with this particular story, I just want to focus on one. Jigsaw puzzles. I’ve done a lot of them in the past few years and every one of them was challenging and is now framed hanging on a wall somewhere. Maybe they hang in another dimension, but they are somewhere.

Quarkopolis and Quarkles

Quarkopolis is a miniature world of animated characters that exist in an invisible dimension. The inhabitants are called Quarkles and they are the inspiration for every human thought, idea, invention, artwork. In other words, they are the ones who make our world happen. Without them there would be nothing of any importance anywhere anytime.

Quarkopolis is the most important world to all humans on earth because this particular kingdom encompasses our particular world very very invisibly. In fact, no human, animal, bird, reptile, or fish eye has seen Quarkopolis nor its citizens.

As a matter of fact, Quarkles are the ones that sparked my imagination to write this story. I didn’t make it up, it was the Quarkles.

But where do the jigsaw puzzles come into the story, you might ask. I’m glad that you did, you see, the story line and plot of the Quarkles and Quarkopolis are based on these challenging puzzles and you’ll see as we go along how this is going to piece together (pun intended).

Zeroth Dimension

Quarkopolis is one of many realms that reside in the dimension of Zeroth, named for the famous Robotic Law.

I’m positive that you’ve heard of the Zeroth Law of Robotics. It’s been around so long that it’s probably included in all the standard digital textbooks for required reading in colleges and universities around the world. After all, Isaac Asimov was a famous author who wrote fantastic imaginative science fiction for everyone’s enjoyment and to make kids hide under their beds so the robots wouldn’t get them.

The Zeroth Law became the most important law of robotics and stated:

‘Humanity as a whole is placed over the fate of a single human.’

Exactly like the Zeroth Law of Robotics, the Zeroth Dimension is the most important dimension in all of the universe. It is highly superior to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Dimensions. The reason for this is because it is the foundation for all life, nature, and comedy.

Final Words to the Introduction

Miniaturization, imagination, challenge. Zeroth dimension in which the realm of Quarkopolis exists and is inhabited by Quarkles. Ready?

Disclaimer — I do not know a lot about the arts of animation, illustration, or writing. This story is imaginative fiction based on my perceptions, which are sure to be unique from yours or anyone else's for that matter.
