Real Talk: How The Matrix and Keanu Reeves Echo My World of Loss and Healing

Photo KreateStudios

Lately, my life’s felt like a scene straight out of “The Matrix.” You know, the 1999 flick where Keanu Reeves is grappling with two realities. That’s me — dealing with the everyday stuff and then wrestling with the loss of my folks. Lost my mom last December, then my dad in June. It’s been rough.

Keanu in “The Matrix” and his real-life story — it’s like he gets it. The guy’s been through his own share of tough breaks, yet he keeps it together. I respect that. And in my own world, since I lost my parents, I’ve found something unexpectedly healing — solitude.

I’m not talking about just being alone. It’s about being out in nature, where it’s just me and the world around me. It’s peaceful, you know? Gives me time to think about everything — the good times, the hard times, and even the downright ugly parts of losing people you love.

Meditation’s been a game-changer for me too. My morning starts with some positive 🕊️vibes from Lavendaire on YouTube.

And at night, I wind down with Jason Stephenson. This routine helps me keep my head straight, accepting things I can’t change.
