Ready to Curate for Health Care Insurance
With wait times of ten days and more, it’s clear our friends at Medium need my help!

I’m ready to step up and answer the apparently urgent need for Curators at Medium.
With wait times approaching and, at times, surpassing ten days, writers are beginning to get cranky. Understandably so! We pour our hearts, souls, and precious time into these outstanding works of prose and poetry and then are left to wonder when, if ever, a Curator will read it and work that special Medium voodoo. Pity the poor scribes!
And I am probably not the only worthy writer/editor/reader/all-around-good-guy who is ready to step up to the plate and Curate.
I may be the first however to boldly assert that I am the woman for the job!
Here are my impeccable credentials for the position:
- I’ve been writing since I could hold a crayon
- I was reading Black Beauty, aimed at 8 to 12-year-olds when I was 6
- I hold a BA in Literature Writing from Columbia University
- I’ve worked in scientific/medical publishing for over 15 years
- I’m currently unemployed
- I’m hard-wired to do the job and do it right (Capricorn, German-descent)
- I’m scheduled to lose my health care insurance in November
- I haven’t quit Medium even though I have yet to rack up the kajillion readers, views, claps, and dollars
- I’m smart
- I’ve read Pynchon’s “Gravity’s Rainbow” and “Against the Day”
- I’ve read “Infinite Jest” in a paper book so that I had to use two bookmarks and not just flick back and forth on an eReader
- I’ve had a fair number of my own Medium pieces curated
- I have discerning taste and read quickly
- I’m ready to hang up my Medium fountain pen and take on the important work of Curation
- I would never, ever favor the work of writers who I think are brilliant on Medium (you know, people like Nicole Bedford, Itxy Lopez, Robert Turner, Roz Warren, Oren Cohen, Helen Cassidy Page, James Finn, Sherry McGuinn, Kristi Keller, Michael Stang or Samantha Lazar and many others).
So feel free to reach out and set up an interview. I live in New York City and my calendar is clear because, ahem, I’m unemployed.
