FULL FRAME | MARCH 2024
Reading Between the Lines and Starring in a Movie
52 Week March Edition

Initially, the prompts for March had me stymied. But I realized something. Once we get into the groove our minds go in different directions and the possibilities seem endless. I can hear Rodrigo S-C thinking Mission accomplished and for that, I thank him!
Here’s my take on the prompts for March!
10-Read between the lines- embrace the cliché.

I saw this beautiful sonic stone at the Indian Music Experience Museum’s sound garden in Bangalore. It is called the singing stone and it vibrates. With wet hands, when we massage the grooves in the stone we can feel and hear the vibrations. It was an amazing experience as I had no idea these even existed. That surface is silky smooth!
There were other “instruments” in the sound garden such as the humming stone, storm drum, melody chime, sound wave, spinner chime, sound railing, tubular bell, and flower gong, which you can see in the featured photo. All operate with touch, producing melodious tones. So yes, we were literally reading between the lines!
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves out here before we headed into the museum to spend the day immersed in music, music history and movies. Oh, the museum had a lovely little restaurant too! They had to push us out at closing time.
11-Out of Place- Interpret that as you will.
At the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, they celebrate a flower show twice a year. There are tableaus created with flowers and plenty of interesting themed exhibitions to see. The main attraction is supposed to be inside the glass house that has the actual flower show.
But as you can imagine, the surrounding stuff is often more interesting. Rows and rows of stalls, random flower creations, people milling about, live shows, it is all so fun! I try not to miss the flower show. Earlier this year, in January, I went there with my friend. As we strolled around admiring the huge flower displays on the lawn, this one caught my eye. Even as we watched, in strolled this furry friend and just settled himself down for a nap. Sweetest sight ever, no?
Some may think he’s out of place there, but to me, he’s exactly where he wants to be!
12-The Mystery Zone- Like Spoon, or not.
I have two entries for the mystery zone prompt. This house is in our area and we pass it often. It has always looked like this. If you look at the left of the photo, there’s an artifact. There are plenty like it on the premises. What are they up to? They’ve also cleverly covered the front with a tarp.
Years of watching the house and I have never actually seen anyone around. And yet, there’s so much stuff, seemingly valuable. But I guess they think these things are too heavy for anyone to steal them. The laughing Buddha outside smirks away even as passersby contemplate on what’s going on inside those walls. Mystery indeed, and a fun one.
A bigger mystery is the tray of muffins below. I had some batter left over from a cake I was baking and decided to bake muffins. While the cake continued to bake, the muffins had to be out in 15 minutes. Just as I was leaving the tray out to cool, the doorbell rang and I ran to answer it. I was back in two minutes. Imagine my puzzlement when I saw one missing.
Whodunit? To this day, my son and husband refuse to confess. And thus, the mystery of the missing muffin remains unsolved.
13-A movie title- like Scorsese, or not.

By now, you know I love to engage with displays — where it is allowed. I used to be shy about these things, or even being photographed, but around ten years ago, I realized it was quite okay to have fun being in the picture. And maybe I made up for lost time! I blame the internet!
So here’s a movie poster — practically everyone in India can guess the name of this blockbuster hit movie. But so can you, if you right-click the photo and search image with Google. Et voila, you’ll have the name of the movie. If you did this, please tell me in the comments — and let’s share a laugh together! I thought it was a fun set up to let the visitor enjoy!
