They find the process of erasing and uploading notes cumbersome and are considering either an iPad Air or iPad Mini with the Pencil. The author highlights the prevalence of cancer, affecting 1 in 2 people, and the importance of supporting research to combat it. They commit to updating supporters on progress and to continue donating 20% of Ko-fi earnings to charity until the end of the year, even after reaching their personal target for the iPad.

Buying a coffee has never felt so good

I want to buy myself an iPad. I don’t own one and it would make my work that little bit better (a whole lot better) if I had something with me that I can write on, in all places.

Currently, I use a Rocketbook, which is a neat way to take notes and upload them via an app to a specific network location; such as Evernote or OneNote or Google Drive.

Then each week, I wash the pages (yes, wipe them with a damp cloth) to remove the notes and start again. It has saved me buying at least one notebook. However, it’s a complete faff!

The washing and drying of pages is a chore!

99% of the time I upload the notes to iCloud and drag them into Apple Notes.

Wouldn’t it be radical to just write the notes directly?

I haven’t made my mind up about which one to buy. I’m torn between the iPad Air or the iPad Mini, with the Pencil. I definitely do not need a Pro version.

This is a call to arms!

Like many on Medium, I have a Ko-fi account, and whilst it’s not a huge income, every little does help.

Ko-fi is traditionally used to allow you to show appreciation for a creator, either as a one-off “cup of coffee” or a regular donation and I thought I’d use this as a way to save up for the iPad.

However, this seems very self-centred and for personal gain, so I have decided that I will donate 20% of anything received to charity.

Cancer Research UK to be exact.

Most of us know someone who has either had cancer or has been affected by it. According to their website, 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

I will continue to keep you updated on progress, and even when I’ve reached my personal target, I will continue to donate 20% of future earnings on Ko-fi.com until the end of this year.

It’s quite simple, just click on this link, which will take you directly to my Ko-fi page to make your donation. You can either make a single donation (the minimum is £3), or you can set up a small monthly payment.

So, what do you say? Fancy buying me that coffee now?

I will be forever grateful, as will Cancer Research UK.
