Read this if you think your life is Fucked
How to unfuck your life
Habits, they’re everywhere, but weirdly enough, we have a tough time trying to spot them, for example, we might call writing a habit but it’s not, writing is mentally straining and you think a lot when you write, so no it’s not a habit. A habit is something you do on autopilot without thought, like tying your shoelace.
Why am I writing about habits? Well, my dear reader, is because habits outweigh goals. Read that again, read it out loud and understand that sentence properly. Everyone has a goal, I’d say most people want to be millionaires, most people have that goal, there’s nothin' unique about it, so the goal loses its importance. Don’t treat a goal as a vehicle, understand that it is the destination and forget about it.
A goal is impersonal and ambiguous, whereas a habit is a personal construct.
Habits as personal constructs.
Why is a habit a personal construct? A habit is an automatic unconscious thought, behavior, or emotion that is learned/ acquired through repetition when you’ve done something so many times that your body knows it better than your mind.
Your problems and habitual complaints are memories/circuits in the brain, connected to a person, place, or thing. The moment you start thinking about your problems, especially at the start of the day, you’re already thinking about the past.
Each one of these memories has emotion behind them since emotions are the end product of past experiences, so the moment they recall their problems they feel sad, in pain, and unhappy.
So if how you think and how you feel creates your state of being, then your entire state of being is in the past, therefore the familiar past will become your rather predictable future. So what do you do? You take your phone and surf through social media, so you feel connected to what’s going on in your life, and then you do a set of behaviors, you brush, you shit, you drink coffee, you go to the office, you see the same people and they push emotional buttons in your system so that you respond in a certain way.
The sucky thing is that you lose your free will to behave, due to these unseen behaviors. If you’re 35 years old, 95% of who you are is a set of behaviors, emotions, unconscious habits, hardwired attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions that function as a program. So if you’re a fat piece of shit, and you say you want to become healthy, you’re trying to create a pattern through only 5% of your brain.
But all is not fucked. You can still change.
The process of unfucking everything.
Most people have some shitty experience that they don’t want to talk about, and we call these things trauma. It’s the place where everything goes to fuck itself, and it puts you in a dark place. Think along the lines of Peter Parker losing Uncle Ben but not being bit by a spider, and not becoming Spiderman.
Why do people find it difficult to get past trauma?
The stronger the emotional reaction, your brain runs to the cause and takes a snapshot called a memory. You start to think about the boundaries of these emotions and you end up in a mood, which ends up as temperament and this becomes a personality. 70% of your life is lived in stress, so you go to the state of fear and end up in the worst possible scenario.
Biologically, you haven’t been able to change and become addicted due to the rush that comes from thinking as you have. The hardest part about change is not doing or thinking the way you got screwed up.
When you keep thinking that way, you become hardwired. The emotion follows the thought, if you have a fearful thought, you’re going to feel anxiety. Discomfort happens during change because the body and mind are in unfamiliar territory and the body wants to go back to the familiar territory, i.e your shitty thought patterns.
Your body starts having a conversation with the mind and it tells you stuff like start tomorrow or you’ll never change, which is basically doubt personified, and if you respond in favori of that thought, you’ll be back to square one and you’ll feel like shit all over again.
Wait, Bobby, what do you mean that your body is your mind?
We’ve all been guilty of this, you’re sitting down and thinking of everything that can go wrong, you start to feel the emotion of that event, and your body does not know the difference between that made up and reality. You are constantly reaffirming your emotional states, so when you want to give that emotion up, your body is like Nah, fuck that I’m conditioned already so fuck you.
You end up in this sick cycle where you would rather feel guilt than go out of your comfort zone because guilt and suffering are predictable.
If you want to predict the future you have to create it. You have to meditate, done properly, and repeatedly, you can enter the operating system where you can make changes.
NOW!
The question that will help you unfuck everything.
What behaviors do you want to rehearse and exhibit in one day?
Mentally rehearsing the action installs the emotional hardware in your brain, and your hardware then runs as a software program.
Here comes the hard part.
You have to teach your body emotionally react to the future, you have to work inside out.
What do you do to change?
You must have a vision of the future, this will lead to your thinking dictating your environment and not vice versa. You have to sit down and disconnect. If you’re seeing less, fewer stimuli are there in your brain. If your hearing loss, I.E you have headphones or earplugs on, you have less stuff to hear.
When you are not giving your attention away, all you’re left with is your thoughts, and where you put your attention is where your energy goes. In this quiet moment, you settle your body back down into the present moment. This practice down many times you can override your mind and control your emotions.
Just because you think something you don’t have to believe, it’s not true.
This level of thinking is known as Metacognition is “cognition about cognition”, “thinking about thinking”, “knowing about knowing”, becoming “aware of one’s awareness” and higher-order thinking skills.
Follow your epiphanies.
You have to follow your “AHA” moments. You only get a few moments of genius and letting them go is akin to Kobe letting go of a basketball. Epiphanies give you power, they give you the ability to create something that could change your life.
Here’s what I mean. Archimedes, who was one of the greatest scientists, was lying inside his bathtub when he got so excited about his discovery, he jumped out of his tub and ran through the streets screaming “eureka” and his eureka moment led to the Archimedes principle.
The lowdown.
The problems lie in you. Most people have an enemy, they hate the living shit of that person, and enemies die, but have you noticed how the animosity towards that particular person is still there?
We live in a world where everything is fucked but the funny thing is that you can unfuck everything because you want to, sounds simpler than it is, but don’t be a pussy, if you’re in a fucked place, grow a pair and walk boldly into discomfort.
