MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SERIES
Read All About It — Becoming More Aware of Mental Health
29th day of May — Featuring Bev’s publication Read All About It and her articles about Mental Health.

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.
WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING THIS MONTH?
I started writing about mental health issues on May 7 and have written one article a day since then. It’s almost the end of May, and I’ve benefited more from my research and thoughts about mental health than I expected this month. It’s been an education and even an awakening for me.
MEET BEV
B A Little has also been writing about mental health this month and presenting her articles in her publication Read All About It. She’s a lovely person with a sincere heart living in Alabama. In her own words, here is her ‘About’
Hello from Alabama. Beautiful mountains and lakes are all around.
I am The Caffeinated Writer.
I am a retired educator, farm owner, writer, photographer, and more. I am a lifelong learner. I still love to learn new things everyday. I think that is one reason that I enjoy writing.

Bev started writing about mental health this month with this article filled with facts and stats about mental illness. Everyone can benefit from learning about mental illness and this is an excellent short resource to turn to. Look at this statement about stigma from her article.
Stigma is when someone negatively views a person because that person may have a mental health condition. “Some people describe stigma as shame that can be felt like a judgment from someone else or a feeling that is internal, something that confuses feeling bad with being bad.”
Bev talks about the pandemic and its effects on mental health. Depression and anxiety numbers rose significantly higher, especially in women.
Bev discusses why people don’t seek treatment for mental illness. Some never get help, some wait a very long time to finally ask for help.
Bev has written so many more articles about mental health this month. I hope you can find some to read that increase your awareness of mental health. I like Bev’s style because she presents the facts about a subject and then she concludes with solutions to the issue covered in the article.
Please browse through the articles on this list, learn, and enjoy!
Thanks for reading today’s Mental Health Awareness article. Stay tuned for another one tomorrow. In the meantime, happy reading, and writing, and please strive to be all-around healthy!
