What Is Your Story?

We are humans. We strive.

We struggle, we fall, we get up, we try again.

Obstacles make us stronger, and often, more determined. Sometimes the obstacles feel insurmountable, until one day, there’s an “AHA” moment.

When I was an infant, like you, I was not born walking. I could not sit or eat without assistance. Running seemed like a mountain peak far away.

In fact, as that infant, I didn’t know the running achievement even existed.

Sometimes we cannot see the next mountain or even know it’s there until we reach the summit of the mountain just before it.

And then, I ran. I rode bikes. I earned every badge there was to earn in Girl Scouts.

I became convinced that there was always another mountain to climb.

But my obstacle was in some ways like being a tall poppy in a field of hundreds of same sized poppies. Striving for the next peak takes perseverance and a strong belief system. And a good portion of humility.

Some tips about submitting a story. Please edit mercilessly. I’m a single editor, but committed to quality, and rapid turnaround. Your extra attention to the quality of your pieces will help things go smoothly. Do follow format guidelines that include giving credit to your photos and art work, title above the illustration, a subtitle, and a kicker above the title is always appreciated. Use quotes when you can find them, they always enhance a piece. But they aren’t mandatory. Include a blip at the end of your article about you, who you are, what you do, how people can connect with you.

We are looking for stories that inspire, innovate, demonstrate leadership, future ideas. These are your experiences, so share them. This is about humans being great despite the obstacles, but the obstacles are also what shape us.

We are committed to publishing on a rapid schedule, with no one having to wait more than 24 hours to either be published, or learn about any reason for possible delay.
