Summary

The website content presents an acrostic poetry challenge centered around the theme of a pomegranate, with the poem expressing a yearning for affectionate love and devotion.

Abstract

The webpage features a poem titled "Rapture," which is an acrostic using the word "pomegranate" to explore themes of love and desire. The author, inspired by the fruit's associations, crafts a narrative of deep longing and passion, inviting the reader into an intimate expression of love. The poem is accompanied by a photograph of a pomegranate, credited to Margarita Zueva, which visually complements the poem's themes. The author reflects on their recent tendency to write sad poems but finds a moment of reprieve in the creation of this more optimistic piece. The article concludes with a thank you to those who inspired and supported the author, and an invitation for readers to participate in the poetry challenge, linking to a related piece by Rochelle Silva.

Rapture

An acrostic poetry challenge: pomegranate

Peel off, these separating threads Open me up, till my soul reveals Make me wonder, staring at your seductive eyes Enchant my being, whisper sultry rhymes Grant me this, my lonely wish Reel me in, to your insatiable passion Affectionate love is all I desire No one else, but you I admire Accept these words, as my undying devotion Treasures for you and I Enclosed in our hearts

Pomegranate, Red, sweet, and tender, Reminds me of love.

They really do remind of love, not just poetic words. I’ve been writing quite a lot of sad poems lately (most of which are in my drafts) and before I started writing this, I thought it was going to be miserable as well. I guess the poem thought otherwise. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed the reprieve of writing it.

Thank you for reading. Thank you to Rochelle for tagging me to participate in this prompt, and a big thank you to Gaby for giving my words a platform here at iPoetry.

Here is Rochelle Silva’s piece, feel free to participate in this acrostic poetry challenge.
