Raise My Value, Raise My Value

The world we live in is a giant market.

We are customers and commodities too.

We are looking to buy good things at a lower price, and we are looking for buyers who will buy our merchandise at a nice price.

Much of our life goes into haggling.

If it turns out to be a good deal, we rejoice. We call it best friends, great marriage, eligible children, etc.

If we feel cheated by the purchase, we cry foul. Estrangement, breakup, divorce follow.

Relationship, the invisible thread, runs through us. It’s a delicate link.

Too tight, it’s stifling.

Too loose, it collapses.

It should be just right, a Goldilocks condition. It’s tough to maintain the balance.

Relationships gasp for breathing.

The fight between buyer and seller continues. We did not get what was promised, etc., etc.

Did the seller know that the shiny eggplant had worms inside?

Did the buyer know that the silky shawl would shrink in the dryer?

Unexpected things happen.

We’ve got to be smart and compassionate.

We are out there trying to raise our value. Well, it will happen if we raise the value of others, not if we drag them down.

Humans whether they are intelligent or not, can differentiate between honesty and manipulation. Be a prudent seller, and a responsible buyer.

Don’t indulge in the cheat game.

As long as life is there, the bustling market will continue.
