DIY beaded necklace
Have you ever found therapy simply by discovering a hobby?

I finally got down to creating this necklace that was inspired by the rainbow I saw a week ago.
Yesterday I had an urge to create something yet did not want anything complicated, so I decided that I would string up a necklace with tiny glass beads and some pearls.
While I am not very much a “DIY” person, I fell in love with beads and beading techniques to create jewelry a few years ago.
Back then, writing was one form of my therapy (still is!), but I was trapped in an undesirable situation and I wanted another way out other than writing — an activity where I could distract my mind completely, and at the end of it, something beautiful would be created.
That was how I stumbled into the world of beading and fell in love. The idea of getting my mind off all other thoughts except to stitch up these tiny beads and create them into a piece of jewelry that I could wear was appealing to me.
On top of that, a soothing activity was exactly what I needed then — think bead meditation — even if it is something as simple as stringing beads up. Though now I bead only on a whim, I would think back and feel extremely grateful for this hobby that I chanced upon. Just like yesterday.

I believe that when you want a solution bad enough, the Universe will bring it to you, just like how it brought beads into my life and I got out of the situation in the end.
The question is, are you willing enough to allow that to happen?
