PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Rain, Clouds, Fog and Luckily Some Shining Flowers in Between
Week 143 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
I wouldn’t be lying if I’d say the only thing that was shining this week were the dandelions on the meadow out front of our trailer. The sun was shining. And if I remember correctly, it was on two occasions.
No, it still doesn’t feel like spring. And while April left us this week, I am only hoping it will get warmer in May. I don’t mind the rain as much as the wet cold. But I do mind clouds when I’m supposed to jump out of a plane.
But let’s see what else I did this week.
Day one after our short trip escaping to the Alps and I got some more game-viewing shots for you. Sitting at the dinner table, I watched the sun setting behind the woods when this bunny that wasn’t little at all, grazed in the meadow.
And because they are always around, I managed to get a photograph with the bunny and some deer in the background. They don’t seem to like the meadow anymore so much and I assume it’s because of all the dandelions. However, they are still here, just a little further back, usually in the fields.

Waking up to sunshine was something I’ve waited for so long. We had spring this year and it lasted a total of two days. This Friday was one of those days.
But this morning I was smiling looking across the fields.

The following day, clouds and fog were back, hanging low above the ground during sunset. It somewhat created an interesting scene in the wind park.

But while I’m just talking about sunshine and clouds I’d like to show you some views from above. Since it was so cold for so long the dandelion started all blooming at the same time creating shining fields you can even spot from the plane.
The rapeseed flowers also just began to bloom and as I was approaching my landing under the canopy, I could only smile looking at all these yellow fields and meadows. And they are still getting brighter day by day.

Monday was a public holiday and so we had to work but the weather didn’t play along and we only got to the two jumps by the end of the day. Not enough for me to justify not doing any exercise.
Late in the afternoon, I took out my gym mats and weights and did a fitness session out in the meadow. That’s where I can motivate myself the best. Exercising in the great outdoors.

Since we had to work Monday, our off day got pushed to Tuesday.
We bought a new grill stand and after assembling and swearing a lot because a man never reads the instructions manual, David was happy and had to test it. The best place seemed to be in the meadow.

And while he was preparing lunch, I could finalize the tax returns and yay, send them off. As a reward to myself, I walked out into the meadow taking some pictures of a combination of daisies and dandelions.

This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett started this photography challenge in 2020 and many have participated ever since.
