Racism May Come When You Least Expect It

People need to speak up against racism and injustice

It is a fact that everyone will have problems and trials in their lifetime. Whether they are Black, White, or any other color or shade, people may face discrimination and prejudice. It is unlikely that White people will face racism unless it comes from people in another country other than the United States or European countries. They could face discrimination for reasons other than the color of their skin.

There are some minority people in the United States who may not think they have personally faced racism until they stop and consider exactly what constitutes racism. When they evaluate their experiences, many have likely faced some type of racism in their lives. It may be called systemic racism and be almost unnoticed. It may be some type of behavior which is just accepted or ignored.

The United States has a lot of racism, but many people who are minorities are happy with the life they live in the USA. They have friends of all races and ethnicities. They are mostly able to get along peacefully.

If a person of what is considered a minority race in the United States is friends with White people, they may not expect them to turn on them. Anyone may be stabbed in the back, figuratively, by people that they had supposed were friends. They can be the same color or have a different color of skin.

It is unfortunate when friends turn into enemies, but it happens all the time. People who were supported by you can turn on you for no logical reason. They may not like something you said or did. They may be jealous or envious of your accomplishments. There may be underlying reasons which are not divulged.

You may think friends are loyal and true, but then they could turn on you. For a person who is a minority, it may become a racist issue.

If and when relationships turn sour and friendships do not last, it might be best to talk to the person privately. If that does not work, you can cut off ties with the person and avoid them, if possible. It is not worth ruining your health and well-being over such matters.

You should not have to endure racism from people who should be friends.
