Quit Your Relation!

It hurts to move on; Photo: Unsplash

It’s time to decide to move on. Is your relation perfectly working out?

Think about that day. When suddenly you sat on the chair and felt alone, all alone! It can take a decade or a fraction of a minute to feel that kind of way. ‘Sad’ and ‘Heart-broken’ are words. But the empty feeling you will feel that moment, you would be happy thinking that someone actually created those words to label your situation. Is there really a good time to come out of a relationship? Maybe yes, maybe not. I believe, the answer varies from person to person. Feeling attached to a person, who is not your family and who was a stranger to you even some years before, this is kind of unique.

That kind of attachment and love to a stranger grows suddenly. And guess what! It seems a lot tougher to hate him/her too. Face reality, the heart does break! Whether you want it or not.

“We are most alive when we’re in love.” Are you in love? Still?

So, when is the time to give up hope? It’s not when the question is-what. It doesn’t matter how much time you are living in this relation; there are certain things that you should consider as the sign to get out of it.

Then again, these are my life lessons and my viewpoints. Feel free to let me know if you disagree.

  1. Lack of respect

Yes, it’s all about love. But, love comes with respect too. Even friendship preserves respect for one another. In a relationship, your partner should look forward to your decision for your viewpoint and thoughts. Maybe, love connects our heart. But yet, we remain different people. Compromise will be there in the relation. But, when it comes to the part ‘disrespect’, no one has to point it out for you. You will be able to see your position clearly. For the boys and girls- it feels the same. Do you have enough respect from your partner?

2. Lack of support

You mustn’t support your partner if he/she has killed a person! But, think about a party where you are talking about your career goal and your partner is judging you with the other people. Dear, is tear rolling down from your eyes? Has it happened before? Once, my partner had some issues with my decision. He took me to lunch, talked about his problem, and asked me politely that would it be a problem if I change my decision a bit. I had my right to make the decision for myself. He knew it too. He respected my thoughts, supported me, and asked me in a polite way. Isn’t it the right way to show your support and express your thought to your partner?

3. Torture

It can be physical; it can be mental. But if it’s torture and not a one-time thing, you should move on. Have you seen the movie ‘Thappad’ or ‘Slap’? It showed a happy housewife, who left her job, left her everything for her partner. Later, one day her husband slapped her for once. And he never came to the girl saying ‘sorry.’ This one slap cleared everything for the girl. She saw how she gave her partner the priority every time, and it made him think that he can slap the girl without any hesitation and don’t feel sorry about it. The guy didn’t feel guilty. In that case, maybe one slap is enough even! And the mental torture, you can take it as much as possible. But think about the next generation, it would destroy their life too. Do you really want this?

4. Lack of connection

Do you feel connected to your partner anymore? Are you guys on the same page? Sometimes, when things get worse, the presence of your partner can make you worried and anxious. It can happen when you are arguing over something. But if the argument and these negative feelings sustain all the time, maybe, you should move on.

5. Losing confidence, motivation, and everything positive

People share life to be happy. Your partner should help to get the best out of you. Well, always, it doesn’t happen. A toxic relation gradually sucks all the positive energy out of us. It feels like- you are now worthy of anything anymore. Dear, get out of this relation! Don’t get yourself stuck!

For me, friendship, respect, love, support- these are things that can connect the relation. Let me know if you have any other points in your mind. I would love to hear that!
