What is anger? Anger is an emotion that affects people when they feel something is wrong. It is when there is excessive anger that it affects the person’s full personality and he cannot get any work done. Anger is the emotion of being annoyed and in return, you want to harm the other person with harsh words to hurt him mentally or even physically

Many researchers have suggested that anger must be checked because it affects the functions of the brain. In particular, The Harvard Medical School in its research study states that Anger affects the brain of a person and it has a direct connection with the gut.

It links anger to anxiety and stomach problems. The gastrointestinal tract is extremely sensitive to emotion. Anger triggers symptoms in the gut with the problems of acidity, diarrhoea, constipation, ulcer, and again to anxiety-like cycle back to the brain connection. When it goes back to the brain, it is difficult to read, write, think and work.

An example of anger that I saw yesterday at the center where the Covid Vaccination was being injected is cited to let you know how easily people get upset or annoyed and it triggers negative emotions from them.

Anger in everyday life.

I was sitting patiently and awaiting my turn to be vaccinated for Covid-19 protection. What did I hear? Loud noises, people fighting and shouting. The anger and the look at one man made me shudder.

What did anger do to him? Nothing! People moved out and he kept shouting at the guards and other people as to why it was taking so long? No one helped him. They were afraid of his temper. The guards came and whisked him away.

The problem was that the server was down and data could not be loaded. This was a systematic glitch and beyond the powers of people. When it started working, things improved and the crowd began to melt away as people were vaccinated and quietly left.

What is the moral of this story? The man lost his temper, ended up fighting with others and not getting support from others. What should he have done? He should have found out what was wrong. What was the problem area instead of shouting at others?

A little bit of interaction with others would help him to be patient and he would understand that everybody was working hard to help but the system was slow due to service disruption.

At this moment I was reminded of a quotation by Mark Twain “Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

This was a small example of anger. In our daily lives, we are angry at home with spouse, partner, friend, acquaintances, and people with whom we have work. At work, we are angry with our colleagues, our subordinates, and our superiors.

We lose friendships, satisfactory work done, and opportunities both at home and in the workspace. Somebody with a better personality wins over the others and we are left behind leading to frustration, stress, unhappiness, depression, and more anger.

What is our gain? Zero 0 and the gain of a smiling happy person 100%. So we lost the race and fell sick by being angry.

Takeaways

#1Anger has a disastrous effect on a person’s personality. He forgets who he is and what he is doing. No work gets done and he loses respect from others. It also leads to stress, anxiety, and depression.

#2. The acidity in the stomach begins to grow as he rants and shouts with anger. When a person is angry it increases contractions in the stomach he begins to get upper abdominal pain.

#3. The liver gets filled up with acid that the digestive system has a bad effect on his body.

#4. Decisions should not be taken when you are angry as they cannot be sound. Reading and writing become impaired and the ability to think becomes fuzzy.

#5. Anger makes you lose your peace and you lose opportunities. Shouting does not make things happen. They slow them down.

#6. You become isolated if you are always angry and your body is affected by it with symptoms of physical pain, mental anxiety, and unhappiness.

To conclude:

A happy person kills the acidity and wins. His gut is clear and so is his brain. The angry person is sick with acidity, anxiety, stress, pain, frustration, and unhappiness.

A smiling person wins the race and an angry person loses his power to think and take decisions. He is bound with pain in his gut.

Moral of the story: Don’t hurt your gut. You can be a little angry to set your things in order. Never be excessively angry or you will lose your opportunities. Keep your gut clean and your brain stays in order.
