Quiet Spirituality: How to Thrive on the Spiritual Path in Private
Subtle ways to practice spirituality and grow in secrecy…
What makes one feel the need to practice spirituality in solitude and secrecy?
Not all of us have a safe space to practice our spirituality openly.
You may find yourself:
- In fear of judgment by your community
- Staying with people who do not understand your beliefs or practices.
- Your support system adheres to strict Christian (or other religious) doctrine.
- You’re early in your spiritual walk and still putting the pieces together.
- You are a private person.
- It’s simply not anyone else’s business what you practice.
You don’t have to abandon your beliefs or practice.
Like most things in life, there are ways to get around the stumbling blocks from practicing spirituality in private.
So, how can one thrive on a spiritual path in silence and secrecy?
Mental Magic
The first thing you should take full advantage of is mental magic.
Mental magic is any spiritual or magical practice you do right in the confines of your own mind.
If you can visualize (which most of us can) you can perform all spiritual rites, rituals, and magical practices in your mind.
Since most spiritual practices require you to use the power of your mind, mental magic becomes a powerful and effective method of practicing spirituality in private.
You do not need a physical alter or working space as long as you have an imagination.
Create any working space and tool you need and perform your rituals in the comfort of your mental home, anywhere and anytime.
Belief, emotion, and visualization are the foundations of a successful spiritual working.
Physical objects or spaces are not necessary to complete a successful spiritual work.
You possess the most potent space of all, your mind.
Incorporating spirituality into the mundane
The biggest misconception we make concerning spirituality is this idea that we are separated from the divine and must somehow do certain things to regain this connection.
You are a spiritual being having a physical experience, everything you do has a divine essence.
Your natural state is spirituality. You are the one who gives your spiritual practices its meaning.
Learn how to incorporate an essence of spirituality and magic in your everyday activities.
In the shower, I use the art of visualization while taking full advantage of the magnetism and etheric power of the water.
I take my showers setting the intention clear energetic blocks that stand in the way of my goals.
I envision the water changing my body chemistry on a subatomic level, reshaping and transforming my auric fields, and causing me to be a magnet to my manifestations.
I also:
- Silently chant affirmations in the mirror
- Do an active meditation while driving, focusing my full attention on the present moment and becoming aware of my breath.
- Recite deity mantras and invocations silently to myself before bed.
- Create sigils, which look like regular images and pictures.
- Put intention, and herb into my candles.
- Light incense to neutralize the energies in the home.
- Put up drawings that have spiritual intent and energy woven into them.
- Meditate during downtime.
Everything in my life has spiritual significance and meaning, even when nobody else knows.
Take full advantage of your time.
Finally, time is key!
A good balance of your time is magic and spirituality within itself.
Use downtime and alone time for spiritual practices. You don’t need hours of free time every day for your spiritual work or to practice magic.
Keeping a steady spiritual practice, a couple minutes each day is better than going days without doing anything, cramming your spiritual studies and practices for the week all in one or two days.
Utilize the small windows of time you have to yourself to light a candle or create a small spell jar that you can place under your pillow at night.
Next time you go outside, take your shoes off to connect with nature and ground yourself.
Wake up a little early in the morning to meditate before everyone else. Use your driving time to affirm, manifest, sing, pray, and meditate.
Put your headphones in and listen to a spiritual podcast, audiobook, or sound healing frequencies while cleaning the house.
Dedicate the little moments you have to yourself throughout the day to your spirituality. These key small moments will make a huge difference in your world over time…. Take advantage of them!
Your spirituality should be customized and adjusted to suit your needs and unique life.
Unlike other religious systems, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to spirituality.
Whether you are currently staying with people who do not adhere to your beliefs, or you are not yet comfortable practicing your spirituality openly, there are many ways you discreetly practice your spirituality and thrive.
By exercising the power of your mind, setting spiritual intent behind your everyday mundane tasks, and becoming the master of your time, you will be able to thrive on your spiritual path… and do so, in secret.
