Here’s a quick rundown of the most recent Midjourney Weekly Office Hours:

(1) Upcoming releases

  • Midjourney V6 by mid-December, before the holidays.
  • The website’s features (Downloader and Collection) will go live next week.
  • Midjourney V5.3 has been canceled to focus on V6.

(2) Midjourney Website

  • The image downloader and image collection features will be available soon.
  • The image creation feature will be rolled out to users in stages, with users who have generated over 10,000 images getting access first.
  • The website will eventually have more social features similar to Discord.

(3) Midjourney V6

  • V6 is a significant upgrade from V5. It is more coherent and sensitive to understand the text.
  • V6 will have more knowledge than V5 due to a more extensive training dataset than V5.
  • V6 is currently in the internal tuning stage. Due to technical challenges, the text drawing feature must be re-trained using a different dataset.
  • V6 may have a new and improved version of Style Tuner.
  • David is considering releasing a V6 version with fewer features and adding them back later.
  • Following the release of V6, the development will concentrate on character consistency and video features.

(4) Other updates

  • The image fidelity of the future Midjourney video feature will be high. It is an image-to-video feature rather than a text-to-video feature. Unlike current video generation systems, the video must look good.
  • The drawing feature is planned for 2024.
  • The chat version of image generation has yet to be considered due to its slowness.
Tuner fanatics now have new tools to play with.

(4.1) New utility tools related to Style Tuner

Midjourney FAQs and Future Tech Pilot shared new Style Tuner tools created by the community members.

  1. The Tuner Dimension Testing describes the Style Directions/Visual Directions in the text format. This tool lets you quickly browse the styles a Tuner could generate.
  2. Style Sliders for Midjourney can generate different strengths of the Style Code by sliding across the visual directions (style vector). In addition to the description functions provided by Tuner Dimension Testing, this tool can generate style codes based on the selection of the sliders.
  3. Style Decoder for Midjourney is a decoding function that displays the choices that make up a Style Code.

Shambibble created the Tuner Dimension Testing, while Kaetemi created the other tools.

Future Tech Pilot has provided a video demonstration.
